Thanks for fixing the sound, working great in linux now.  Appreciate it!!

Unfortunately, I seem to have a very annoying screen flicker, and other apps (firefox) enhance it.  It goes away in full screen mode, but then you lose the chat window.  On a similar tangent, pop-ups show up BEHIND the main window.  Is this a common problem?

This seems like a video card driver issue. I suggest you try to update your drivers. But then you say that version 1.2.3 worked fine for you without flickering? I also suggest you install the latest Java version from Sun (www.java.com).

No, 1.2.3 had the same video issue.  I'll try updating my Java and graphics driver and report back if it helps.

I still have flicker, with my ATI drivers updated and Java updated, etc.

What would be a good workaround is to have a chat window in fullscreen mode by integrating chat directly into the game display (bottom bar or something).

I'm sorry to say that it's not likely we will fix your issue any time soon. Just to be sure you have proper drivers you'll have to download them from here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx. Downloading the drivers with your package manager might not work for example.

Yes I agree, the chat ought to be integrated with the game display.
