I have a brand-new HP laptop with Windows 7. Whenever I try to join a game or create a game (even just on the local machine), the window shows the word "loading..." on a black background, then simply disappears. Any idea why/how I can fix?

As an update, sometimes it does work. Not sure why.

This sounds like a driver issue. Some people have reported problems with the default drivers coming with Windows 7. Try to download the newest drivers from your video card vendor and see if that fixes the problem.

I had this problem. I still do.I downloaded new drivers  for my SiS 630/730 Chipset, upped the VRAM in the BIOS, and I still get the problem. My friend had this problem, HE downloaded new drivers, and IT works. I need a new video card, but you should be fine with new drivers. Wink Wink Wink

Here the same like comrade:
Whenever I try to join a game or create a game (even just on the local machine), the window shows the word "loading..." on a black background and program freezed. Only Taskmanager can remove it.

(Zotac Dualcore Atom-Board, 2Gb, Ion Graphics with all *actual* drivers on Win7)
