I am currently utilizing a wireless connection and seem to have connection issues - can any one advise of any solutions or would you recommend using my desktop broadband connection.
My PING ranges from 97 - 132 yet I have lost connection to several games.
Thanks

Assuming your router is giving you a good, reliable signal I don't think this is because of your wireless. It sounds more likely it's a crappy ISP pulling shenanigans like refreshing your IPs regularly. Do you have this difficulty in other games?

Thanks qoonpooka - I will contact my ISP to see if that is the issue - I also updated some of my network drivers and it appears that the problem is less.
I am still going to s/w SHAW Cable - my ISP
Thanks Again for the input - much appreciated

You may want to disclose your brand/model of router. I know a lot of 2wire routers drop packets (but presume it is not a 2wire based on the fact that you have a cable provider, but perhaps your router needs a firmware update, and possibly the modem you are using as well. GF has a 2wire router I loaned her to use with her DSL, and it's terrible with dropping packets, makes it near impossible for me to complete a game if I play her her house, even if I run a hardwired connection. The issue effects loading of web pages negatively as well, tend to have to reload a time or two on pages with a large number of picture files. It's just an idea. Worth checking firmware or finding out if your router is prone to packet issues.)

Do you live in an apartment complex, or other dense area? You may be getting interference from other nearby wireless access points. This can cause dropped packets. You might try switching to another channel, if you can, to see if it helps. A WiFi scanner program that shows the channel numbers of nearby access points can help you pick a clear one. When doing this keep in mind that each 802.11b/g channel is actually three channels wide; e.g., channel 5 overlaps with 4 and 6.
