Unable to transact in auction tho buyer and seller on same line . Timer froze.

Playing this game.  I and the other players found ourselves unable to carry out any transactions during some of the auctions.  We would go go the line, but the computer would not recognise this and the timer would also pause completely.  When we all moved back to the starting position, it would restart , and then we would move down again to transact, and the timer would freeze again.

Also, they were unable to see me moving my character during this time, although I could see my character move however i wanted it to. 

In the end i was kicked out since they said my character was in one spot but kept giving the motion of walking, and they felt the game ran smoothly afterwards

Was this really just a case of bad ping, or could something else have caused it?

Is it possible for a player to do this deliberately?

I'm also wondering whether it could be due to my monthly allowance having ended, since i got a mail saying it had ended this morning, and usually the text comes a little late after teh point is reached.
