johnwelshphd plays himself

orv is hosting, and phylor rounds out the table

But how is user id 133 playing himself?

For some reason this game also appears twice in the user's game records at this moment anyway...

I'm guessing he logged in from two PCs simultaneously, but used the same account to log on.  Interesting trick, may have to test to see how he did that.

In answer to why the game shows up twice when looking at john's profile, it's because he was 2 different players and got two different scores.  In that respect, I don't see a problem.  When looking at all games ever played on the system as a whole, it still only appears once, also when looking at the other player pages, it only appears once.  It all adds up to me.

You can log in with the same account twice but the score will not be counted if you play both games from the same internet connection, unless a third player is invovled.

Ok.  So it sounds like its intended to be that way.... but what is the logic?

Why let the same player compete twice in one game? In fact, why does the game allow more than one copy of itself to be running on a single PC at the same time at all?

"the score will not be counted if you play both games from the same internet connection, unless a third player is involved"

How does that make the score legitimate?

I have been noticing how the ranking system is widely abused, and in all honestly it should be deleted completely to discourage these ass hats from ruining games, just look the top ranked guy here:

http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-players/user?user_id=14622

Not a single game against a real player... this is not a player which adds to the Planet Mule experience in any way shape or form... and yet he is rewarded the honour of rank 1...

I don't know, I would do it for the fun of it even if it wasn't ranked for the fun of competing with myself.  Some of us nerds are strange like that.
