I know there was a thread talking about ways to speed up the game and I think someone might have suggested to skip round 12 auctions all together.  However, I couldn't find the thread I was thinking of.

Anyway I think one possible way to speed up the final auctions might be to simply default all players to a buy position instead of the usual sell if you have an excess and buy if you have a shortage.  I find that even tho rarely anyone buys or sells, that not everyone switches to a buy position when the store has no units.

I think by defaulting everyone to a buy position that it will make the final auction round quicker most of the time and not really take away from any of the original game play at all.

What do you guys think?

That makes sense. With all players in a buy position, the game skips the auction altogether (assuming there isn't any in the Store).

exactly, so most of the time it would just skip the auction... not always, but for many of them it would skip, like crystite for sure would skip.

I don't see why they don't just quickly go through each screen automatically selling all the items for each player (no counting up items and raising bars with sound effects that would still just be unnecessary, immediately show the bars and numbers, deplete them to 0, again immediately, showing how much each person made from them, press a button to go to the next auction), because sometimes the AI doesn't even sell on the last round, and you gain no benefit from not selling to the store.
