Where is everyone. This was going gang busters, and in the last two days, I've hardly seen anyone on line to play... It seemed so popular for a while, and now it's dead. -S

Sorry MB and others, I'm back at work so very little free time and when I'm home have to spend some time with the kid too. And then I get so tired that I go to sleep. But rest assured, I'll be around and we will have our tournament! And I do read the forum daily (at work, of course )

as mule is about 1.5 hours, you have to plan your time, so i guess its a matter of priorities to those who tried and like it.

I agree. There's just not enough time to dedicate at least an hour of uninterrupted play. I am in the mindset that if I can't dedicate the time to play, then I shouldn't join in, just to leave the other players versus the A.I. at round 7. A quick pause feature would help a bit. It's probably easier and more accepted to just ask the other players if we can take 5. (See my detailed how I see it working in thread http://www.planetmule.com/forum?topic=50.15) Another good feature would be to take over A.I. spots on games in progress, and maybe even step out for a turn or two, letting the A.I. take over, then take your game back from the A.I. (without disconnecting). >WWNN!< Hmm.. That's a good suggestion I don't think I have seen yet... Maybe I should post it.

I am married with 2 kids. I've only ever had time to play 3 games so far. As far as A.I. taking over, the idea is fine as long as ranking is taken into consideration. A good way to handle this would be that if the human player participates in at least 75% of the total time of the game, they can be ranked. Any less than that and they cannot be ranked (and other players gained ranks will be diminished since they will have played most of the game against a computer opponent).

Actually a lot of people are having problems with the 1.2.2 version of Mule. You can read about it in the BUGS section of this forum.

well mega byte, i would play but as you know when i attempted to play with you, you ended the game prematurely... i see you do this plenty of other times for whatever reason unfortunately... so based on prior history, i cannot play with someone that ends games rather than playing to the end... and since you seem to like to host, it makes it even worse because the game cannot end without you letting it run in its entirety but your point is correct, i've noticed less people playing too and i actually took a weekend off playing... i can't believe i've went more than 2 days not playing heh

Chalk me up as another guy who would love to be playing but can't due to the 1.2.2 bugs.

Looks like almost all the Mac players were knocked out with the update.

I usually notice pleanty of people willing to play, but hardly any able to host. Port Forwarding really limits things.

I don't know anything about those things but fortunately I'm able to host. I have Vista home premium on a Toshiba Satellite laptop, haven't messed much with network settings (besides trying to make the laptop work as a router for another laptop with little success), and have been able to host since the beginning. So what's the matter if the majority can't host? On the other hand, I'm looking forward to having "neutral" servers so that nobody can complain about "ragequitting"

I've only ended 1 game... and that was due to player abuse, which I did not appreciate. I have some power issues however, and I've had a number of games end as a result of losing power here. (Trying to resolve it, but I have so much gear, that if I have the wrong balance of things, and the refrigerator compressor engages, then POP). So I try to make sure I don't run the washer and dishwasher at the same time. (Sorry to those.) I find it odd that people single me out on this, when my "abandon rate" in the top 20 players is among the lowest...
In any case blaming 1.2.2 hasn't helped, as 1.2.3 is out, and problems quite resolved. I suggested in another post that has it become "un-fun" that some of the "broken things" in earlier games (like high scores to high smithore levels, 99 max in store, NO spoilage) has actually made the game less fun... Just wonder. Even top players like Machinus have left...

I would hazard that machinus left because he felt he had broken the game as much as he could. He had climbed his Everest.
