I'd like to see a Starbucks added to the Colony.

Something that would either supercharge a players movements for the duration of the round or increase the amount of time available, (for a small fee of course).

What I think is that maybe the world should be 9x9 so it is bigger.
That's what I think about it.
And maybe not an Starbucks but a Blockbuster.

Actually, not a bad idea!  Get corporate sponsorship via the store!  Starbucks pays PlanetMULE $XX,XXX to have an ad in the store.  The players get to buy coffee and they get a quick burst of speed for their turn!

Starbucks?  I think Juan Valdez Colombian coffee would be more appropriate.  After all, he has a MULE in his logo!

 Grin

Could fit very well if done right, example of good sponsorship imho is McD. in Fifth element or Bladerunner's Budweiser / TDK...

Instead of a Land Sale office (which is hardly ever used) there should be a Union Office where Players can hire Union MULEs. Union MULEs might cost a little more, but they're more reliable and produce better quality goods. Corporate investment in the Colony should be discouraged. It's General Store atmosphere builds a sense of community, which ultimately benefits the Colony as a whole.

The point being, a way to buy additional time, or faster movement, for a high price is a good thing. Yes, in some sense this means that a person in the lead get farther ahead. But the real way to think of this is that someone with a lot of cash gets more time. How do you have a lot of cash?

1. Not gotten land auctions.
2. Sold a lot of ore (smithore or crysite)

I've had games where I've had lots of empty land, lots of cash, and no way to get them all developed. Comes from around turn 6-8 of the game -- food shortages early, finally getting ore sold, and trying to catch up on land development.

First place person has no use for it. This is for people with lots of empty land to work. That's not the people in the lead, that's the people trying to catch up.
