Was playing a 12-round training game against 3 AIs. I was leading. In rounds 10 and 11, none of the AI players grabbed any land. Seemed rather odd, and I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't want to take free land.

Usually by round 11 there aren't any free plots left or not enough for everyone to take.

Yeah, in round 10 I think there were 3 plots free. I was in the lead and didn't think I'd get one, so I just held my finger on the button to see what happened. I got the first one, then the other two were left unclaimed. Same happened on the the following round. On the final round one of the AI's grabbed the last plot.

Would have expected them to try and grab anything that was available, rather than leaving them for me on the next round.

Sounds like a bug then.  I don't think I've ever seen the AI *not* take a plot, if there was one available for them.... Or at least I can't remember it happening any time over the past 27 years.

I had the same issue. On turn 11 there was two plots of land left. I was in first and held my button down knowing I would get the first plot. What surprised me was the second plot went untouched and I got it on turn 12.

I can confirm I have seen this at least twice now.  Two turns, where there were less than 4 plots available, the AI made no attempt to grab a land.  Cool by me, I got 2 Smiley  But... very weird behavior.

same here...in my very first game, too:

we had a jerry lee lewis start (come on over baby, whole lot of heavy land-auctioning going on),
so by round 10 there were only 3 plots left...

imagine my surprise when i got _all of 'em_ ! in round 10, 11 and 12 - the a.i. players were content with assaying the empty plots, but displayed no interest whatsoever in actually aquiring them.

as i should NOT have to mention  Tongue  this a.i. behaviour might not entirely be appreciated by the large majority of prospective players....

I have seen this several times as well.  Definitely a bug.
