I've seen this one before, not sure what the cause of it is:

Once any player moves to a trade line (either the Store's or another player) and one unit is exchanged, no more units are exchanged and time does not move until players back off of the line. If an AI tries to sell to the store, then he never will back off of it and so the game can't continue.

The game status is "finished". How did you finally manage to get it to continue past the bugged auction?

Same thing happened here:

Could only buy 1 unit before auction froze.

My suggestion if you're having this problem:

If you encountered this after auto-updating, trying downloading and unzipping the new version over the auto-updated version.

Either that, or some of the people you were playing with had the auto-updated version, and some had a fresh install.

I'm suspecting that there's a slight difference between the auto-updated JAR files and the fresh installed files that's creating instability.

Just a guess, but after I did a fresh install/overwrite, I had no problem.

I downloaded a new tar file and installed it.  The problem still occurs.  This is the game:

Land auction didn't work either.  I was hosting the game and it only allowed me to bid and awarded the land to me.  I understand that other players were also bidding, but I couldn't see them moving.  Same as in the other auctions.

Is this issue limited to the linux version?

As Big Head Zach suggested, the problem could be that someone else that was playing in your game didn't do the same thing.

[moving my post]

Game: http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-game/game?game_id=15390

We could only sell or buy one unit after auction 10, crystite. If we stayed at the buy or sell line, the timer stopped. Another player said, he couldn't sell from the top. During round 12, ore auction, moo bailed at the sell line. The AI wouldn't move off the line, so the game effectively froze. In last ditch effort to unstuck the game, I kicked Ivan. After that the game seemed to function normally.
