We have for a very long time, been frustrated with people that choose to play fullscreen.  They can't see the chat, and don't participate fully in the game.  We can't let them know to press spacebar during production phase.  We can't talk to them about strategies if they are learning.

My suggestions - two new features.

Feature #1, when in full screen, add a feature option to put the chat on a second screen for a player with a dual head display setup.

Feature #2, along the bottom of the game screen just flash or scroll out the chat one line at a time with a small time delay when needed if the chat is moving faster than can be read one line at a time.  Maybe a rolling style reminiscent of BBS terminal days (at a speed of 30 characters per second?)  That way, if we need them to see something or respond, we can say something asking them to come out of full screen mode to respond, and they will know we are trying to communicate with them.

Not certain how hard it would be, but theses seem like worthwhile additions.

Good idea CC..

Specially the dual screen option.

As for voice chat, I totally agree with MSM, it's not a good idea.
