Game referenced:

http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-game/game?game_id=6096

In this game, we quickly bought out all the energy in the store, and the store remained void of energy for the rest of the game.  Players traded energy with each other at over $100 per share.  However, the price to sell to the store never went above $10.  I don't think you intended the store price to work this way, correct?  All the other resources become more valuable to sell to the store when the supply is wiped out.

Was there enough energy to go around (if players wanted to be altruistic, that is)?  If so, then there was no shortage and so no reason for the price to go up.

Now if no one was producing energy AND the store was empty AND the minimum price was $10, then there's a problem.

One of the AI players was short on energy for the last 4-5 rounds. My buddy and I were selling some of our excess at over $100 per energy, but the AI player didn't have enough cash to buy all he needed.

But to your point, collectively there was a surplus of energy being produced, but none was sold to the store. I guess the game must just use the over all production and demand numbers to set the store price, not what energy is actually trading for amongst players.

I'll post a suggestion for improvement in the other forum.

That's because the current version of the game is not doing post-auction valuation like the original is.
