Hello!

It is quite frustrating to wait for a new game for 30 minutes. Why can´t there be always one extra open game?
I prefer autohosted game because it is reliable and no host can do anything malicious. It isn´t nice that your host starts to talk about shutting down his computer when he is loosing the game.

The issue is server capacity for the autohost.  They run in vitual machines on a computer maintained by mainstream.  Mule is pretty resource hungry, so the fact that it does so well with 3 games running at a time on one machine as host is really quite impressive.  They are independent of the planetmule site and chat server.  We can just be thankful a fellow mule player has gone to the effort to make them.  If anyone else can dedicate a high speed connection and a system to support more host, I'm all for it, but no one has stepped up, and I imagine that's because not many of us here have that ability.

Anyhow, thank you mainstream. Smiley

Of course if someone does want to offer up another server, you might be able to get the bot software from mainstream.

I think Chucky explained it well..   I will eventually make the Bot software available to decent hosters to allow for more auto hosted games, once I fix some of the database issues with it.    Would be nice for Europe players to have a decent server.

The Bots run in virtual machines, and I have actually had 4 of them running at once before.    I usually only run 1 or 2 based on demand.

The host computer is an 4ghz 8 core 32g of memory machine.

Any computer that can run Mule can run the BOT software, so most would be able to host atleast 1 game.
