17 days remaining... If anyone would like to see alpha colony become a success, please support by pledging what ever you can afford. The goal in the summer was $200,000. Now its only $50,000. So far its only reached 15,000. I have pledged because I like to have a variety , its 2012 and all we got is planetmule. Mule 2 looks like its on the dusty back shelf. Alpha colony has a really good chance to launch if mule fans would come together and pitch in some money. Ive pledged 35$ again , which gets you the game on pc and mobile. I really hope mule will live on. This is also a great opportunity for people who have never heard of or played mule to learn what mule is all about. here is the website-http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1547218311/alpha-colony-an-exploration-building-and-trading-g?ref=card
If you have any questions , we have a player here who works for kickstarter. Her name on planetmule is wrathofawesomeness. You can pm her or see her in lobby .
If you dont have money to spend please just take a look, and pass on the info to anyone who luvs mule.

xoxo

Would have a lot more chance of raising the cash if more experienced players helped out new players when they first have a crack at MULE and actually try to mentor them to become better players rather than shit on them from day one. Too much abuse from these same players when a less experienced player (like me) tries something different during the game - it doesnt mean this is collusion against then or collusion with anothe player - EGOs are far too big from the few that think they are speaking on behalf of the rest of us that love this game... Do you remember playing this game 25 years ago on c64 with 3 of your mates- everyone was trying to win, and that often meant taking an opposite position to the person that was likely to win. That isnt collusion or sabotage- thats MULE.... and often when this doesnt pay off- you come in last. Get over the BS fellas and embrace everyone that plays !- Inclusion will raise the $$$ ; exclusion wont !

I agree with the above post.  I'll also mention again that there is no online multiplayer planned for Alpha Colony unless it reaches the $300,000, which I believe to be extremely unlikely to ever happen, and so I'm not going to take my chances kickstarting a single player game of MULE which I can just play on an emulator.  However, if Alpha Colony does ever reach that goal and multiplayer is added and tested to be working well, I'd definitely consider purchasing it at that time.

I'll be honest, as cool as alpha colony looks, the original mule was written in a basement for free, and then sold commercially, not the other way around.  Planet M.U.L.E. is completely free.  I'm not entirely sure why they can't develop the game first, so maybe development takes a little longer because it becomes secondary to making a daily income, but then again, it seems like these guys probably have other projects going anyways, right?  To set a minimum goal before they will even actually start the project, seems a bit over the top, if the effort fails, do we get our money back?  I'm thinkin, probably not, and I can't throw money at a high risk venture like that.

Yes you do get your money back if the goal is not reached, I pledged in the summer also and money was put back on my card. By the looks of these comments I guess alpha colony will not be made, I just thought this would be the best place to rally up people who may be interested in playing a different style of mule.

I just think they should do it the way it's normally done, or used to be done, develop first, make money later.

There is already a "different style" of MULE thats been around for many years. It's called Space Horse. The online multiplayer is a bit glitchy but it's an awesome remake.

So here's the deal guys! We've only got a few days left and DreamQuest Games' Christopher Williamson has recently met someone willing to match our Kickstarter pledges if we make our goal! We're only $25,000 away from that.  We had over $100,000 pledged last time so if we could hit that our private funder is willing to match it! That would mean 200k!  We're really excited about this game and hope you are too.  See you in the lobby!

Thanks guys!!!!

I have the Space Horse demo, If im gonna play 3bots it will be with c64 mule emulator or subtrade: return to irata(dosbox). I cant believe after all these yrs they are still charging $35.00 for full version. I think alpha colony, if completed will be far superior to space horse. I do have every mule clone there is, and although space horse is fun to play I wont rate it as the "best" mule clone. Please people, If you have a few dollars to spare -alpha colony imo is worth it.

\Ps. where is 5player mule 2?? still collecting dust I guess. fail

I heard something about an conflict with game licensing rights that needed worked out, and it is yet unresolved, so it's been shelved.

I never said Space Horse was the best.  But it was definitely the best attempt at a clone with netplay.  The point I was trying to make is that there is no sense in making a new MULE clone if it isn't going to have netplay.  As you yourself said, if you're going to play against 3 bots you will just play the original game in an emulator.  And I concur.  All you will be doing with Alpha Colony is .. guess what?  Playing with 3 bots.

Ive spoke with my kickstarter contact , and she has told me there will be net play down the road once the game is released. Its called a stretch goal, im sure once people have obtained the alpha colony game the demand for net play will be huge. Alpha colony , like all other mules clones, are not meant to be played with bots, so im pretty sure the wait for net play will be very short. My point is ,I dont see anyone else making any playable mule clones for net play in the near future(or at all). So whats wrong with pledging a lile cash toward a possible final, mule clone. Its not like you have anything to lose. Deadline is less than 48hrs...http://www.alphacolony.com/the-final-48-hours/...If this game is not released , I say its a huge blow to the mule community and to the future of mule. We are a dying breed!!

Please do what you can, for M.U.L.E!!
