playing a game recently as ZDor i had a opponent decide to buy chrystite from another player in round 11 for $180.00. his reasoning for this was that if the game had stuffed him up he was going to ruin someone else's day.
i can handle things if people buy out the store or wont sell food or nrg at any time, this is part of the game, but to buy at an inflated price with no hope of a return i feel is totally unethical.

i wont be playing with maplefish again and if anyone else does, beware

You got it all wrong.  It wasnt to ruin "someone" elses day.  It was to ruin YOUR day.  Cheesy  And seeing as how you're crying about it here on the forums is testament to how successful I was.  As it happens I was pretty much out of the game, zdor was in a commanding lead against me and 2 other inexperienced players.  One of those players had a sliver of hope.  I dont see why being being out of the game means that Im not allowed to affect it?  I was trying to make things interesting.  Its your responsibility to act or react to a changing environment.   So the only ethical move would have been to sit idly by, make the predictable moves, and let you coast to victory?  Nah, I dont think so.  The idea behind this game is that its a free markek.  I feel Ive been clear about this before.  I didnt break any rules, there is nothing ethical or unethical about throwing you a curve ball.  I can use all the distraction Im allowed by the game rules to thwart you.  And just because Im in a losing position doesnt mean I cant affect the game.

As far as you not playing with me anymore, thats cool.  To be honest I really dont want to play with someone who is going to go crying on the forums everytime I make a move that is unconventional, but certainly not unethical.  To be honest people should beware of you.  No one like a crybaby tattletale.

I think most people who've played with me know that I dont make a habbit out of buying tite for 180 a pop.  There was no collusion, I was not a friend or foe of the recipient of the sale.   And most people also know to expect the unexpected from me, be it good or bad.  If you cant handle a little mystery and volatility then dont play with me, but dont call me unethical.

Hmm, buying stite at $180 isn't collusion, is it?

Imho Mule Brynner is the unethical player selling and try to win that way.

Where's the point playing over an hour if it just needs a sore loser buying and a willing seller at the end to lead a game ad absurdum?

Agree it was wrong.  Happened to me twice too.

It's wrong because although price manipulation is perfectly valid, the aim should always be noble..to give yourself as good a chance of winning as possible.

Once that intention changes to trying to someone else to win, or sabotaging someone else's game to give another player (rather than yourself) a chance of victory, then it becomes unethical.
