I joined a bot game and got the blue color player. I like blue because it is easy for me to see it apart from the other colors. But another player (mary) wanted blue and insisted to have it, she would not play any other color! So instead of playing a game with the three others she would not join.

I think she did this because either she's spoiled and must always get what she wants, or she likes to boss  new players around. If she has played over 500 games already I find it hard to believe she only plays as her chosen color, that would be close to impossible. And if she wants to always be that color she should host games herself and make it so, no big deal, no rule against it.

I like this game and most of the other players have been fine, but mary was very bossy and bratty. This is M.U.L.E.: first come, first served. It shouldn't matter new vs. old. If the "seniors" insist on pushing around "freshmen" players, nobody will want to play any more.

      I quit playing against Mary after HE joined up with Mogs and another in collusion against me! I doubt that Mary is even a girl! No normal woman sits on the computer and plays 50 games of Mule per week.

They joined the first game I tried to host, along with another player. At turn 11, that other player's client stopped responding to continue. I waited for two minutes, did not see the player chatting in the lobby, so I kicked in order to finish the game, which was a shame because that player was my closest competitor. I don't like A.I. robots any more than most other honest players do.

Anyway, the game continued to turn 12, at which point both Magued and Malt-O-Mule left the game! That results in my host rating looking bad (first attempt, 0 host points, so now I'm some kind of bum? Thanks!) and I lose a win that was hard fought with three other pretty good players.

So, thanks for nothing you heels. All of us wasted 90 minutes playing a good game, then the two of you decide to take it out on me when things didn't go your way. Nobody can help the "foo is not responding to continue," those things happen and the only way to keep going is to kick the frozen player.

It's amazing to me how much new players are scorned and mistreated by the established players in this community. Nobody will get rid of me that easily. But that's the last time I host for anyone except other players I know already. Shame on me for trusting Magued (pretty highly ranked to be pulling that kind of crap, IMO) and Malt-O-Mule (whoever you really are) to behave like grownups.

FlapFlap, I applaud your resilience. You have to realize though, that most of the higher ranked players get there BECAUSE they do stuff like that. Play with people you know, and don't stop playing.

In mary's defence, please remember that for quite a long time, there was a core group of maybe a dozen players who played against each other regularly, and we have known about this issue (actaully a couple of more MULERS who need blue/green because color blindness) - mary has also been very clear that she is Italian and her english skills are very poor.

I also agree that one option is to NOT play her anymore, however, sometimes you have to play with who is available unless you want to wait (and we all know that can be a LONG ASSED WAIT).

I have played many games against mary and have never had any issues, so she is NOT on my DNP list and I also look foward to playing aginst you again as well Flap.

MOST of the HIGH rank Players got there through HUNDREDS of game and MOST do not do shit like that (YES there are a couple of DICKHEADS in the higher ranks) - in General, they are a good bunch of players.

Yeah, Leah, I haven't had any issues with mary either and find her to be an interesting opponent. she obviously isn't talkative though. Are you saying that she is in fact color blind? Cause I like to make mental note of such things.

P.S. I don't mean to generalize about the higher ranking players :p elitism, however, doesn't garner a healthy following. the amount of mulers is pretty pathetic at the moment (especially considering the beta testing of an unofficial sequel) and I personally think it is imperative to welcome new players.

I believe mary has a monitor issue and orange / purple appear the same so it is very hard for her to know which plots as hers...I know lots of players who prefer purple for the same reason...

She is an interesting opponent - but honest - she is in it to win and will do whatever it takes.

Please understand that a lot of the higher ranked players have over 600 games (about 900 HOURS) and we have played a SIGNIFICANT number of new players when it was just the core group that I mentioned in my previous post. I don't think that it is eltism on the part of the higher rankers....just the fact that we have been impacted (and wasted ALOT more time) when it comes to new player issues (lack of knowledge,quitting etc).

I will play any / all of the ranked players and I will also play NEWBIES as long as they have read the "how-to", played the original version and played at least 1 training game. If a plyer shows promise, I am happy to give them tips to bring up their level of play as the better all players, the better the game.

If you think there is slim pickings NOW for new players...should have been here about a year ago.

I don't believe I have ever seen Mary play a color other than blue myself.  I do think that when Mogs70 has used her alias in her absence that there are a time or two she may not have been blue, but that was because Mogs70 was using her alias.

@chucky, did iqs slip a bit since ive been gone?(2months)...Mary is mogs, not hard to figure out as she did a 180 couple months ago from loosing all the time to now winning badges. And ive NEVER seen mary use blue, she always picked green...She was just keeping blue warm for me while i was away, thanks mary! xo

Speaking of badges. Am i the only one who finds it hilarious how guys will play 50-60 games in a single week just to impress total strangers with a badge that has no importance in the big picture of life. Those who play a zillion games a week will tell you that they love playing but im not buying. Playing 60 games in a week is no longer fun it's work! I have a idea. Get a job or some sunlight people! Just my humble opinion as usual. YooHoo i got a badge this week. Yipee you! Haha. Get a job not a badge.

I haven't played in a month myself, my router took a dive again, and I've been much to busy trying to move and do yard saling stuff.  Just popped into the forum to catch up a bit.

It's been quiet for the most part in the forums it seems.

Just the occasional complaint about the same people.

Flapflap, I rememeber that game and I didnt quit that game I was disconnected. As the other was. You should have asked us first before putting this crap on the forumm. I take pride in finishing all my games and my stats with over 200 games and 10 abonded shows that very clear. In none of those10 have I quit!!!!
