...nothing new here. This is just a minor game play option that was in the original M.U.L.E. For those who dont know what Im talking about....If two players were to push their button at the same time during the buying/selling of anything, the screen would turn red and the two who pushed their buttons would get a quick little private insider type of trading between themselves for a few seconds. the other two players would be frozen in a sort of suspended animation until the collusion was over. It was a great asset in bringing down the guy in the lead or to help out some noob or whatever.
However, this is a far cry from what I miss the most from the original version and what MUST be implemented in an update of what we have now or most definately part of what is to come for MULE 2 and that is......

"WELCOME BLUE FLAPPER"..."WELCOME GREEN BONZOID" ..."WELCOME PURPLE GOLLAMER"..."WELCOME ORANGE HUMANOID"...so on and so forth

This was just an announcement of each character as the game begins, nothing to do with game play, but it was also the only thing about MULE (or the ATARI800) that my mother would not frown upon...and that makes it priceless at least to me it is. So please bring back the welcomes and let our moms/wives/gfs smile at just a little bit of our IRATA addictions.

collusion was arguably a decent thing when everyone was playing in the same room.  Where you could actually punch someone in the face when they took things too far.  But over the internet it is definately a very very bad idea and would make everyone quit playing.  It is possible to collude now, by 1 player paying $500 for another players units not for personal gain (food or nrg shortage) but just to transfer money.  This type of behavior is considered very bad sportsmanship.

Your other suggestion is very good and and could help bring back some of the excitement when a game is about to start.

@peabodyfred , Are you sure it was the atari that announced species at the start of the game and not the nes....cuz the only version that i ever saw do that was the nintendo version.(imo worst version of all)

Not 100% on the atari as ive only used an atari emulator, but i am 100% c64 did not have that funny robot voice(my ex g/f liked that voice too, it lured her into playing mule on the nes!)... whats with woman and that voice anyways??

It would be nice to have more player options.  Collusion would be one of them.  The issue would probably be wether or not having the ability to turn some options on or off is too difficult to add to the lobby and the game.

I regards to Collusion, abuse becomes the online issue.  "Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool!", so no matter how you try to safeguard collusion from abuse, an abuser will find a way.  I doubt the program code itself is safe from those that want to abuse it to their advantage.

However, a straight land swap, where each player marks a plot and they swap, done, that would be nice.  I believe there are many instances when two players would agree to an even exchange that provided them with mutual gains.

I wholeheartedly agree with adding collusion and have been campaigning for it forever.

The thing is, in a realistic market, there is collusion and price discrimination. It is not always beneficial in MULE to sell to the highest bidder, sometimes it's better to simply sell to the market, or someone who will reciprocate a nice deal with you. Or simply, to work against the first player. It would be a modern feature to have in my opinion, but I will compromise with a worker that does it.
