I wonder how many of us are in that elite circle (that played since 80 something) - It was 86 or 87 when I got my start.

My guess is pretty much everybody on Planetmule has played since the 80s or was introduced to the game by somebody who has played for 25 years. I doubt that many just stumbled across this Planetmule site and decided to start up playing with no clue about the game. Doubt that many young people would even be interested in M.U.L.E. Probably why they dont introduce the game to the Xbox, Wii or Playstation or atleast something similar. I also believe that only a small percentage of mule players have even been or heard of planetmule! The best Mule players in the world have probably been sitting down and playing 4 human games since day one. Big groups of friends getting together and holding tournements and such. We like to believe at planetmule that we are the greatest MULE players ever and no disrespect to the top guys but there are likely guys on the planet that have been playing all human games since day 1. They probably dont even have a clue about a game with AI. Haha.

heh Chuck, Dude, if a person was lucky to stumble onto the game back in the 80's and liked it.  Then consider US that liked it back then even stumbling on it or thinking about it again.  I was like 12 years old when i played it.

I know, I think I'd still just being playing the original on the emulator or my C=128D if I hadn't seen my buddy Adam playing PM in his office one day.  You should have seen me, he was just idling in the summary screen between rounds as he was working on work projects and playing AI during compiling time.  I actually asked him if he wrote it of if it was something he found online.  He googled it I guess.  That was just a month after it was released.

It is a lot like something he would program or think up to do, but the art I think is a little better than what he would have come up with.  Anyways, I was thrilled to see it, and downed it as soon as I got home and started playing.

Oh, You can't EVER say that kids these days are NOT interested in a game like this. In fact, I am only 13 and I love the way this game looks. Grin

Sigh, maybe he needs instructed to ask mom to allow him a full 2 hours to play the game before he starts to play one.  At least he might have enough time to complete a game.
