'Sockmonkey' has taken his antics to a new level. During a game I was in position to win he choose to sell his crystite for a high price to another player in hopes of spoiling my chances at the win, only because I am a female. Any woman looking to play a game should avoid playing with him as he uses derogatory names and sexual comments with no provocation. Although he is rude in general and thinks that is how all players on the internet act, I would avoid him altogether. This is a real shame as there are so few of us in our small community, can't wait to play a game with you soon! -Joanna

...only because I am a female.

Rest assured, Sockmonkey is just as vile, rude, and unsportsmanlike towards male opponents as well.  He's an equal-opportunity offender!

Fortunately, the vast majority of Planet Mule players are quite decent folks, and fun to play with.  There are only a couple Sockmonkey's out there that derive their enjoyment from trolling, instead of from playing the game.

Just by posting about Sockmonkey you are giving him what he wants. He is just looking for attention and trying to get a rise out of others. He is probably sitting back loving the posts about him! If nobody played against him or payed and attention to him he would leave Planet Mule. He's just a Keyboard rager. Much like a road rager just not in a car thank god!

While I have read quite a bit about Sockmonkey and have even read some of his comments - and YES THEY ARE VILE - if you understand where they come from, you will realize that Sockmonkey has MAJOR issues and he is acting out at "someone else" - MULE seems to be his outlet and I do not believe that he is being personal to any players here at Planet MULE.
While I do disagree with his comments and do not believe that they are appropriate to this game, I understand where they are coming from....
I feel bad in some way as I know that they guy / gal has had some pretty major issues in his life, you could not be that way something warped you.
I hope that Sockmonkey TRUELY UNDERSTANDS WHY his actions are offensive to the Planet Mule community and joins in our community, instead of trying to stay outside - as he is a good player having played in numerous games of mine with only 1 issue.
From my LIMITED experience playing here at Planet Mule - 98% of us seems to be well balanced, mature individuals just looking for a nice way to socialize and have fun - the other 2 % - well avoid them.
Joanna, do not let the ramblings of a disturbed individual to upset you, we do not care that you are a woman, we willl beat you same as a guy LOL Grin, and you are always welcome in my games.

There is no excuse in my book for disrespect and abusive language. He has been on my do not play list for quite some time and he will not change his ways until everyone refuses to play with him.

I am not saying we should all run out and play him, however, if he changes his ways, we should allow him a second chance?  Yes / No ?

Like you said leah, he has issues...we all do i think. And the fact that he is a fan of mule means we all have somthing in common with him/we're a rare breed....So yes i will play "sockcock" again, and if he wants to insult me all game thats his choice....there is still the fullscreen option.

I don't care for his antics either. I don't believe in putting up with them when I'm trying to enjoy myself and a game of M.U.L.E. with my friends & the good people here. I don't even think he needs to be ostracized either. I'm just not putting up with it. Why? Because I don't have to. I sympathize with him if he has some "issues" that make his behavior something he finds acceptable. But I don't have to put up with it in my games. If his problems are so serious, perhaps he should spend some more time outside M.U.L.E. working to address them therapeutically and less time working them out on the rest of us.

Earlier today I hosted a game. He joined. I asked him not to. He stayed. The four of us began to play anyway. Right off the bat he started with the abusive language. I warned him not to do it again or I'd kick him. He continued. I kicked him. And given that the game had just begun, I decided to terminate the game right there instead of put up with an A.I. See for yourself: http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-game/game?game_id=30007

Am I wrong for doing so? Maybe, but I'll own that. If people want to say I did the wrong thing, that's okay with me. I'm fine with it and I sincerely apologize to the other players who were affected by my actions. So be it. Please be assured it will not happen again, and I never kick any player for any reason within the action of the game itself. Even if I would really like to Wink

For me, this is a game and an enjoyable diversion. I won't put up with his antics, not because I'm better than he (I'm not). I just don't want to and I don't have to, either.

Respect that doktorbuzzo and I would do the same - you gave the guy warning so nothing wrong with kicking him and as to shutting down game - as long as all respectful players agree - proper thing to do.
You are also probably correct - it would be a good thing if he "went away" to deal with his issues.
I am not trying to justify his actions and fully agree that we should "shun" him if he does not change, however, he has not been abusive in any of my games and as long as he remains so, I will play him.

Totally respect all those who will not....

To quote Death_Mule17 "...And the fact that he is a fan of mule means we all have somthing in common with him/we're a rare breed....So yes i will play "sockcock" again, and if he wants to insult me all game thats his choice....there is still the fullscreen option."

I would modify that sentiment slightly....there is always the kick option.

Sockmonkey is probably just venting! If you met Sockmonkey on the streets he would probably be the nicest guy you ever met. He probably never confronts people face to face! The computer is his outlet. Then again there are others who get a entertainment value out of ruining things for others and know exactly what their doing. Which one is he Huh
