I think the game has improved immensely in the last couple of versions.  however there are 2 things that would make it better. I think I mentioned them before in other threads, but I'm gonna ask again anyhow :-)

1) I like to play windowed mode, cause I can do other things and I can chat.  But I do like full screen  better because I can see things better.  I have a 24" monitor running in a very high resolution and I would love it if I could stretch the window and things would actually get bigger, not just the window.  even if there were 2-3 different sizes (100%, 150%, 200% zoom) or 50,100,200 even would be sweet!

2) the colors, I always wanna play a specific color, let us choose our color, everyone can choose green we would just see each other as different colors, maybe assign player 1-4 so people can differentiate the players...

Thanks for the great game. Grin

I'd be interested in seeing the crystite map at the end of the game. It could be accessed just like the game map when the final scores are tallied and hitting the space bar would shuffle through the 3 screens.

great suggestions Mikman, I agree on both counts.

I also think Oort's idea is a good one as well.

I think your idea is a good also Death Mule, however i think it should wait until Mule2.  There will be MAJOR balance issues that will have to be discovered and fixed.  The original c64 version talked about the species having different powers but as far as I am aware they were not part of the game.  Can you cite any examples?

Well some of the characters had special advantages/disadvantages:

- Flapper started with an extra $600 (nest egg)
- humanoid started with $400 less (too smart apparently)

others had vague sounding advantages but I dunno if they actually were advantages or not.

- Gollumer - loves land and willing to stick their necks out to get it (land auction advantage?)
- Bonziod - loves hanging around in the mountains (mining advantage?)
- Packer - love food and make excellent farmers (food advantage?)

That's all I remember :-)

I remember the vague references like packers love food etc. but i never could notice that it had an affect on actual production.  And for the life of me i do not remember the different species starting with different amounts of money....was this only single player? or also the case with 4 human players?  Maybe everyone I played with just stated you couldn't play using flappers or humans? not sure after all these years.  Thanks for the response though (almost tempted to get my c128 running....i ended up finding a copy of mule in a 2nd hand software shop about 8 years ago....Woot!)

The descriptions just added character to the game not any special abilities.

edit: added "not any special abilities"

One more thing that would be nice is a time stamp on each message in the chat log on the main lobby window. sometimes I show up there and see a few messages and respond only to find out they were posted an hour ago :-)

Not to mention active/idle status of the players in the lobby...
