kipley joined the game in slot 2
tiffanyelizabeth: Wait to see if hitman joins or just go AI?
kipley: Whichever you prefer
kipley: You intend to complete the full 12 rounds of the game, correct?
hitman visits
hitman joined the game in slot 3
Added computer player <D.A.N.>
kipley: Have fun, everyone
hitman: gl all
Round 1 of 12
tiffanyelizabeth: We going for colony score or free for all?
kipley: individual
kipley: But feel free to help me out if you want to improve the colony score! ;-)
tiffanyelizabeth: Sorry we have to wait on the AI, but not showing development gives them an advantage.
Round 2 of 12
hitman: tif go into setting to see his move
tiffanyelizabeth: I know how to set it. The AI seems to get an advantage when you have it set not to show development, though.
kipley: that is true. AI can develop much more, and get more from the pub, when the development is turned off.
hitman: ok
Round 3 of 12
tiffanyelizabeth: Not sure if it's by design or if it's a bug.
kipley: it's a bug. They saw they'll fix it in a future release.
tiffanyelizabeth: I'm waiting for the multi-game crystite bug to be fixed. I didn't restart my client after my all AI match and Dan seems to be cleaning up on it.
kipley: Dan and the pirates, both
Round 4 of 12
tiffanyelizabeth: Ironic. Communist methodology in a game that tries to simulate capitalist principals.
hitman: just waste it
tiffanyelizabeth: Gotta know how to work it to your advantage.
tiffanyelizabeth: Sometimes spoilage benefits you more than the sales in the long run.
hitman: will see
Round 5 of 12
Round 6 of 12
tiffanyelizabeth: Never seen the AI buy that much. Normally they get the bare minimum and back down.
Round 7 of 12
kipley: I agree, that was unusual
tiffanyelizabeth: Sunday was the first time I played this in years so I'm having to relearn all of my old tricks.
kipley: If you did that just to get out of the lead... that's actually pretty smart
Round 8 of 12
kipley: Yay, Dan will sell me food if I get pests, or my food mule runs off
kipley: Called it
tiffanyelizabeth: Which, in turn, fouls up my whole strategy.
kipley: I wouldn't have paid the price you would have asked for your food, anyways, tiffany. Don't have much to do next turn anyways
kipley: (had dan not been selling
Round 9 of 12
kipley: Oh that sucked
tiffanyelizabeth: Looks like we're going to make the bare miniumum for colony survival.
kipley: That could cost me the game
kipley: The bare minimum? I think we'll do better than that. We haven't even gotten into the massive crystite production farms at the end, yet
tiffanyelizabeth: Crystite's something I'm getting use to. It was only available in tournament mode on the NES, which required a minimum of two players, and I never had anyone to go against.
kipley: Well, I forgot to get my land this turn, but at least there's exactly 4 plots left, so I'll get one next turn. And I'll only lose out on the plot for one turn instead of the whole rest of the game, which would have been devastating
kipley: The games here typically end with most everyone having 9 or more crystite plots. That produces a ton of crystite, boosting up the scores on the final turns
tiffanyelizabeth: It was the late 90's when I got the game at a flea market. By then my brother had moved out and my friends were of the "N64 or nothing" mentality.
hitman: just play
kipley: Ummm... we are playing
kipley: But feel free to ignore any chat you don't feel like participating in
Round 10 of 12
tiffanyelizabeth: There goes the Wampus. I'm sure going to miss my visits with him.
kipley: THAT never happens when the show developement is turned off...
tiffanyelizabeth: Small price to pay. It's bad enough he had the crystite advantage from the start.
hitman: lmao
kipley: I actually take advantage of the bug in the opposite way. I turn off "show computer development" to LET the computer get more money early on. Because then he'll get the bad events for being in the lead for the early game.
hitman: lol
Round 11 of 12
tiffanyelizabeth: This will be embarrassing. I can handle losing to humans, but losing to the AI bugs the crap out of me.
kipley: The AI in this version is better than the old, stupid AI. It's still got it's flaws, but it's not as easy to exploit quite so badly.
tiffanyelizabeth: I thought soemething seemed off. I never lost to the AI on the NES once I figured the game out (no manual, all trial and error), but here I've never beaten the AI.
hitman: playing with people who play for them selfs wont help your game tiff
tiffanyelizabeth: Seems to be an inactive community by the time I log in so I take what I can get in terms of opponents.
hitman: kip play for him self and fucks the game
kipley: Ah, I see, you're one of those folks who believes it's bad to try and win, then?
tiffanyelizabeth: Well, kip, this is a sort of hybrid game.
hitman: well you more bothered about ur rating thats y you play beginners
kipley: Actually, I play with whoever is in the lobby at the time. Beginners or experts, I don't discriminate.
hitman: if you say so
kipley: I do say so. Feel free to browse my past game history, you'll see I regularly play with the folks who rank in the top 10. It's all there on the website for you to verify.
Round 12 of 12
tiffanyelizabeth: Personally the rating system bugs me. It's what ruined the Command and Conquer franchise online. People get so concerned with a number next to their name that they make it difficult for others to enjoy the game.
kipley: Also, I'd be interested to know how you feel that I messed up this game, hitman
hitman: you tell me
tiffanyelizabeth: "Kick the noob" or else they seek out newbies to exploit to raise their rankings. I've left many games because of it.
kipley: You're the one you said that by playing for myself, I fucks the game
hitman: you did ,,,,, did you not
kipley: I'm just curious to know what I did that fucked the game. I'm trying to understand your point of view
tiffanyelizabeth: We're all guilty. I tried to monopolize the food, then there was the forced mule shortage, we all drove up the price of ore, and we all drove up prices in land bids.
kipley: Well, good game, everyone. In my opinion, anyways. I suppose others may disagree.
hitman: do 1
Game Over
Saving score, please wait...
kipley: Thanks for playing, everyone. Thanks for hosting, tiffany
Score saved
hitman left the game
hitman was disconnected
kipley: Ah, no further explanation. How unsurprising
kipley: See you, tiffany.
tiffanyelizabeth: Doesn't bother me that people play for themselves. We all were.
tiffanyelizabeth: I freely admit it, though.
kipley: Elegant estates. Looks like the game wasn't that fucked, after all
kipley: LOL
kipley: see ya
kipley left the game
