Drilan visits

tartarus.guard: hello drilan

Drilan: hi

Drilan: can I join?

tartarus.guard: sure

tartarus.guard: I'm just looking for 3 humans, nobody in particular :)

Drilan: dont know how to play

tartarus.guard: are you using a friends account? it shows that you are ranked 5th.

Drilan joined the game in slot 2

Drilan: jjust joking with you

tartarus.guard: :)

tartarus.guard: so i'll kick off the game when we get two more humans preferably.

Drilan: Im been playing since 1987

tartarus.guard: you like the 1.2 changes then I imagine?

Drilan: yes and no

tartarus.guard: I'm curious on the no.

Drilan: there are a couple of things I woulda change

tartarus.guard: such as?

Drilan: the should let the assay cost $50 but only the player who checks the plot is the only one to know

tartarus.guard: yeah. I can see how allowing other players to see the result is in line with the original however I do agree I would prefer to pay $50 and have the results to myself.

Drilan: house is now up to 255 and I would left it the way it was

Drilan: the smith spoilage after 50 was perfcet

tartarus.guard: 255 doesn't bother me, but the combination of 255 plus the spoilage at 50 is hard. It limits your ability to buy out the store since you will let much of what you buy go to rot in later rounds

mintcollector joined the game in slot 3

cyounghusband visits

tartarus.guard: I have to try hard to remeber the 50 spoil addition, sometimes habits from 1.1 take over and i buy out a comodity only to watch it spoil next round

Drilan: it they woulda left the house to 99 is almost the same cause of the spoilage

tartarus.guard: yeah, except with the house at 99 the spoilage happens in the stores warehouse and not mine :)

tartarus.guard: are you going to join cyoung?

cyounghusband: no, was just going to observe

Drilan: me???

cyounghusband: but I can jet out if you prefer

tartarus.guard: ah. Well then is everyone ok with 1 bot or do you all want to wat for a 4th player?

cyounghusband: i can't commit to a full game

Drilan: commo'n

mintcollector: no, we are obviously waiting on a 4th

tartarus.guard: no it's fine to watch :)

Drilan: do you want to learn from me???

Drilan: lol

mintcollector: brb...rebuilt my pc, and a stupid Windows update is annoying me to reboot contantly

cyounghusband: just some idle entertainment while I surf

mintcollector was disconnected

cyounghusband: I've never observed before

Drilan: I first plyed on C64 then on NES and now

Drilan: this is my 3rd favorite game of all time

tartarus.guard: Planet MULE was my first. My first game system was an Atari 2600 but MULE just wasn't a game I picked up.

Drilan: never played before this?

mintcollector visits

mintcollector joined the game in slot 3

tartarus.guard: I've played economy games prior to this, but planet mule was my first mule game.

Drilan: economy games??? wich??

mintcollector: ah, I used to play the original

mintcollector: played this, Archon, and Rails West alot

Drilan: nice

Drilan: I played archon a lot

mintcollector: you may enjoy Rails West if you can find an emulate port

mintcollector: *emulated

Drilan: they gonna make a remake

Drilan: did you know?

tartarus.guard: Baron Realms of the Elite was an old BBS door game, along with SRE and others in that vein. I think thoughs were probably the first econ games I played. Oh and Trade Wars 2000

mintcollector: no, I did not

mintcollector: lol, never heard of any of those

C64 nostalgia visits

Drilan: a remake of archon will be awesome

C64 nostalgia: may i join?

tartarus.guard: please do :)

Drilan: nop

C64 nostalgia joined the game in slot 4

Drilan: Im making friends and youre scaring them away

tartarus.guard: heh

mintcollector: I figure this will be a great learning experience...this game based on your win records

Drilan: I hope you dont play as bad as last time C64

C64 nostalgia: me too

C64 nostalgia: i sucked

Drilan: lol

Drilan: it happens

tartarus.guard: Drilan, you have the power.

Drilan: I hope not to be first in early rounds

tartarus.guard: well, you got your wish :)

Round 1 of 12

Drilan: lag problem

tartarus.guard: ping over 250?

Drilan: no

mintcollector: I was wondering who has causing the pauses

Drilan: 180

C64 nostalgia: 109

tartarus.guard: what's your ping mint and cy?

tartarus.guard: it may be cy, i know he's watching and doing other things, it may be draggin his ping bandwidth down.

mintcollector: 78....I usually am 0

C64 nostalgia: host is about 0

C64 nostalgia: always

cyounghusband: 156

Drilan: yep

tartarus.guard: hmm, nobody has a horrible ping *shrug* don't know.

mintcollector: I have a 16 Mbps copnnection

mintcollector: *connection

tartarus.guard: maybe the master server is lagged, host does have to send log data to it

C64 nostalgia: only at the end i thought

Drilan: nice

mintcollector: had that round 11 last game :(

tartarus.guard: i think it keeps a running log, not sure though

C64 nostalgia: i'm mr pink... i'm mr pink...

tartarus.guard: pepto bismal

C64 nostalgia: kept looking at orange

C64 nostalgia: damn

Drilan: yesss

Round 2 of 12

Drilan: lol

Drilan: ???

C64 nostalgia: ???

mintcollector: someone lagged out BAD

C64 nostalgia: you might want to kick cy

C64 nostalgia: DAMN

tartarus.guard: sorry cy, going to see if it helps, lag is killing

cyounghusband was kicked

Drilan: thats not cool man

tartarus.guard: bah

tartarus.guard: oh well, good luck on the land grab if not on the wumpas

C64 nostalgia: still bad

mintcollector: it is one of us then

C64 nostalgia: steady 93 here

mintcollector: 78-94 I have seen

tartarus.guard: the pings are cyclical, it seems like somebody is getting intermitent connection issues

mintcollector: nice

Drilan: I think is me

tartarus.guard: it's ok, still playable :)

C64 nostalgia: lol... the land

Round 3 of 12

Drilan: buy it

Drilan: nice

Drilan: everyone has money issues

tartarus.guard: yeah, that should clear up in a few turns though.

Drilan: MONEY!!!!

tartarus.guard: i like to hold out for 100, but it's close enough and i need capital :)

Drilan: you 2 make me sick

Drilan: lol

Drilan: nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Round 4 of 12

tartarus.guard: that's awesome

mintcollector: lol, pwned....all of us

C64 nostalgia: whew good run

mintcollector: ouch

C64 nostalgia: grrrr....

C64 nostalgia: bad mojo... this game

mintcollector: you wumpus money ran off

mintcollector: *your

C64 nostalgia: i had to try

mintcollector: and there we go

mintcollector: $460 mules next turn

Drilan: lol

Round 5 of 12

C64 nostalgia: damn in-laws

tartarus.guard: i fear the second pirate raid, cashing out

mintcollector: I have had 3 pirate raids

mintcollector: those stupid cat bugs have had a cascading effect on my game :(

Round 6 of 12

Drilan: that was on purpose

Drilan: right?

C64 nostalgia: who?

C64 nostalgia: too cheap

mintcollector: ok, this gane is INTENT on screwing me specificially. Wate of my time...GL guys

mintcollector left the game

Computer takes over mintcollector

C64 nostalgia: he sucks!

tartarus.guard: yes

C64 nostalgia: brb

Round 7 of 12

Round 8 of 12

C64 nostalgia: dri, why do you go around the store?

Drilan: .2 sec faster

C64 nostalgia: is it really?

Drilan: yep

C64 nostalgia: good to know

C64 nostalgia: first curse blows

Round 9 of 12

C64 nostalgia: ?

tartarus.guard: aaaaaaand...

C64 nostalgia: dri?

tartarus.guard: dri can't answer the phone right now, he's busy holding ^

Drilan was disconnected

Computer takes over Drilan

tartarus.guard: looks like he timed out

tartarus.guard: i'll check the log at end game to see if it was a timeout or something else

C64 nostalgia: damn, that sucks... 2 down

tartarus.guard: yeah, 1.2 seems to have bad lag problems

tartarus.guard: i don't recall this many problems on 1.1

C64 nostalgia: game is quick now... small perk

tartarus.guard: yeah, based on that i am guessing he was lagging

C64 nostalgia: mint is still an ass for bailing

tartarus.guard: yeah, i could almost understand if it was for lag

tartarus.guard: but bailing over an event is lame... maybe he was just mad i called it

Round 10 of 12

tartarus.guard: speaking of crummy events

tartarus.guard: :)

Round 11 of 12

C64 nostalgia: not mine... YES

tartarus.guard: :)

tartarus.guard: damn it, i keep forgetting about the spoil at 50

tartarus.guard: 1.1 taught me bad habits

tartarus.guard: :)

C64 nostalgia: i like 1.2 so much better though

tartarus.guard: i agree, i like it much better i just need to retrain myself

C64 nostalgia: fix lag, slow down land auction

Round 12 of 12

C64 nostalgia: my wishlist

tartarus.guard: land auction could be tweaked, i'm ok either way. definatly need to improve communication channel though.

C64 nostalgia: among players?

tartarus.guard: nah, the chat works great, i meant the game window

C64 nostalgia: YES

C64 nostalgia: explain

tartarus.guard: well, the chat window we type in works fine even when players lag out of the game window above. I have had chat working when the game play window crashed compleatly

C64 nostalgia: no....

C64 nostalgia: ?

tartarus.guard: I assume that this chat is the UDP connection and the game is the TCP connection. It is probably something in the synchronization code that is lagging things down

C64 nostalgia: how did it unstick?

C64 nostalgia: just now

tartarus.guard: my theory is that it is checking in with the master server during game play to help prevent cheating.

tartarus.guard: so if the master server is lagged the game can correct itself so long as we don't exit and the master server catches up

tartarus.guard: I am going to do a packet capture one of these days to see what is going on

Game Over

Saving score, please wait...

Score saved

C64 nostalgia: it told me evryone was not reponding

tartarus.guard: yeah, but we know better

C64 nostalgia: gg

C64 nostalgia: other thann the AI's

tartarus.guard: that is why i think there is some during game communication with the master server that didn't happen in 1.1

tartarus.guard: good game to you as well as always. I'll beat you one day :)

C64 nostalgia: has the server been down a lot?

tartarus.guard: I'm not certain, I haven't done much to verify my theories, i just have them :) some day when i am less lazy i'll do a packet capture so I can see all the comunication going on the game ports and see what is going on

C64 nostalgia: thanks for hosting

C64 nostalgia: goodnight

tartarus.guard: goodnight
