pking: Okay, just one more and we're ready to go!
Hadamard: What's your ping ?
pking: 234 ms
Hadamard: Oh, a slot can remain free...
Round 1 of 6
cohenmr: playedthis when I was a kid....
Hadamard: Didn't we all :)
cohenmr left the game
Computer takes over cohenmr
Round 2 of 6
Hadamard: Ugh, the WORST one
pking: And you take the lead!
Round 3 of 6
Hadamard: Yeah, the "open for disasters" plot
Hadamard: There are no "new" players here. If someone is interested in MULE Planet it means they have played the original game...
Hadamard: So it means essetially no "noobs"
pking: Maybe, although there could be some people that haven't played before...
Hadamard: Not many though
pking: I was trying to see if you can shove the store off like in the original...
Hadamard: The "store intelligence" is vastly imptroved
pking: How so? Isn't the store pretty passive?
Round 4 of 6
Hadamard: Not "store" more like computer in relation to store
pking: Will the computer buy out the store to create a shortage?
Hadamard: It was easy to get a monopoly on food or energy in the Atari version
pking: Not gonna develop your other plot??
Hadamard: No cash
Hadamard: A little mistake
pking: Ah right...
pking: I'd forgotten store fires...
Hadamard: crap :)
Round 5 of 6
pking: This colony kinda sucks so far!
Hadamard: Fortunately it's just training
pking: Yeah...
pking: Of course...
pking: Son of a...
Hadamard: "Overall the colony was a failure
Round 6 of 6
pking: Yeah, pretty miserable!
pking: So what machine did you originally play on? C64, Atari, or Apple?
Hadamard: That's going to be a problem.
Hadamard: Atari
Hadamard: 800XL
Hadamard: You ?
pking: C64.
Hadamard: The music was AWESOME :)
Hadamard: I still listen to the original a lot
pking: It was fun. What other EA games did you play?
pking: And do you still have your 800XL?
pking: Ever play Archon?
Hadamard: On Atari? Can't really remember. I didn't pay attention to the publisher back then
Hadamard: Sure :)
Hadamard: I mean Archon
pking: Yeah, we're old...
Game Over
Saving score, please wait...
Score saved
Hadamard: The Atari is still here, but missing the power supply :-\
pking: Ah you can find those online easily enough! :)
Hadamard: Not important though, since I have a full stock of emulators
pking: Well, good game.
pking: Yeah, but sometimes powering up the old hardware is fun.
pking: An emulator doesn't make floppy drive seek noises...
Hadamard: No, no it doesn't :)
Hadamard: But i DO listen to .tap files :)
Hadamard: Sometimes
Hadamard: And it helps nostalgia
Hadamard: (ZX Spectrum tape files)
pking: It is fun. And amusing to realize my cell phone has 3000X the CPU of my old 8-bit...
Hadamard: The Atari loading sound was no fun compared to the ZX
pking: Did it actually play the squeaking hiss as it loaded?
Hadamard: Atari ?
pking: No ZX. Sorry I think I msunderstood.
Hadamard: More like (beeeeeeep) (hisssss) (beeeeeeep) with the hisses being lead-in and beeeeps - data
Hadamard: And the Spectrum - yes
Hadamard: A short beeeep lead-in and then data. sweet noise
pking: Ah yes. My first computer was a Commodore PET.
pking: I last booted it a few weeks ago! :)
Hadamard: Oh no. I just realised. This place is FULL of OLD people all nostalgic about their 8-bit systems :)
pking: Booted. Ha! "Turned on."
pking: Yeah, really it is.
pking: Kinda the point! :)
Hadamard: I don't need more of me :) It's going to be tough :)
pking: Well thanks for the game though. It was fun. Even if we did fail!
pking: But as an old 8-bit user...
Hadamard: At leas *I* won :P
pking: do you work with computers now because of it?
Hadamard: Yeah, thanks
Hadamard: Yes :)
Hadamard: You ?
pking: (Yes, you were the least sucky of us all.)
pking: Yup.
Hadamard: Damn :)
Hadamard: This is going to be one hell of an experience
pking: What do you do?
pking: I'm a hardware engineer building embedded systems.
Hadamard: Finishing my masters degree, some linux and windows server administration
pking: See, these things really influenced us!
pking: Good luck wrapping up the masters.
Hadamard: Buying the ZX Spectrum when i was 3, at the cost of 10x the average monthly wage was the BEST thing my parents did to me :)
pking: They set you on a path...
pking: I wonder how many other parents did as well...
Hadamard: Have fun with your embedded systems. And if you ever write firmware for an embedded system in Java i'm going to hunt you down and invent some really painful new tortures :)
pking: Of course not Java.
pking: That's what Perl is for! :)
pking: Just kidding. Real embedded developers use assembly.
Hadamard: That's what assembler is for, but perl is ... acceptable
pking: And no assembler.
pking: Just a pencil and the processor databook.
pking: Well, time to go do something real. Thanks again!
Hadamard: This is going to be fun. Thanks
Hadamard: And bye! Time to disconnect. Or we'll stay all day
Hadamard: Bye!
