Acavia: I went from Uverse, which is DSL basically, to cable, and cabel is much better
Chuckie Chuck: When people get stream happy it goes dog, it's a problem when my kids are here on the weekends
Acavia: I do not recall ccmule being laggy
Chuckie Chuck: they max out the connection and then some, my oldest starts a stream, pauses it for 10 minutes to buffer so it doesn't lag in the middle of her anime shows

Chuckie Chuck: Put in external router for the wifi portion, disabled the wifi on the uverse modem, no more modem resets

Chuckie Chuck: They're practically matching systems, and the hdd went out on number 2 a while back, while number 1 was in storage, so 1 got put back up, but not before I cloned the hdd for 1 and got 2 booting again.

Chuckie Chuck: I still need to reprogram so they don't mimic each other, right now they are perfectly identical software setups, same IP on startup, same account setup, same remote desktop address.

PanBot-421: i never use all of the resources on this thing as i am in love with classic games mostly
PanBot-421: and star trek. love that
Chuckie Chuck: Three Dell Latitude E6400s and an HP Probook, virutually identical specs, except one Latitude has the gaming board with Nvidia video, Bluetooth, higher res screen, etc.
Chuckie Chuck: And I use the HP Probook most the time, just like the feel of it, and unless I am playing WOW or Guild Wars, I never max it out. The special Latitude gives those game a little more visual appreciation.
Chuckie Chuck: The HP has better wifi antennas, way more reliable on the road.
PanBot-421: yea in my experience dells are pretty solid if u keep the dust blown out of them funky style heatsinks lol

Chuckie Chuck: My Dell was an overhaul special, I bought it for $75 from a fellow tech who had reflowed the northbridge, couldn't get it to fire.
Chuckie Chuck: Turned out to have a short to the chassis, and a failed CPU.
PanBot-421: wow. do u ever tweak around with motherboards or anything

Chuckie Chuck: I got it cheap, stuck a CPU on it, swapped the screen for a high res LED screen, worked out the chassis short and it's never had much trouble since.
PanBot-421: i can build a pc bet have never worked on the internals like that
Chuckie Chuck: Only problem I know about at this point is the sensor for screen shut doesn't work, and that's actually a useful feature, lol
