So all you Socialist MULE players out there, what's your excuse? Shouldn't you be handing out pamplets on a street corner or something... Do you really thing this game will bring about a global worker's state? Somedays I think it just might. Children should play this game as a good introduction to market forces. I'm not saying we should abandon the free market, I'm just saying the people who actually do work should get the highest wages.

Wait, what? I can't tell if this is a serious post or not.
And how does MULE encourage Socialism exactly? If anything, it encourages a bartering-capitalism combination.

People doesn't work, the MULEs do! And you don't even pay them a wage. They risk their bolts working for you, getting deteriorated, exposed to radiation, acid rain and meteor strikes. Did you ever think about that MULE blasted into million of atoms under that meteor? NO! You just think "Great, more crystite for me! But I lost the money invested in the MULE." What a shame, you MULE exploiter! Tongue (My Cat O' nine tails is just a motivation tool, RLY.)

In Planet MULE, you are the capitalist. (Buy or produce cheap, and sell at its max price.) You put the money and coordinate/manage, even when your workers do the job. Would you give your MULEs the highest possible wage when they spend more time running around than working? If the production is not high enough, there's is not enough income, and thus no more amazingly-high wages can be paid. Your MULEs would go lazy, spending half of their time tap-dancing and getting drunk at the PUB. Grin As for real world...

Due to the selfish and greedy nature of humans, it will never work for them: the one needing 3 food unit will claim to need 6, the one needing 5 will ask for 8, and those who get just what they need, will have shortage because of the greedy ones. The ones will envy the others, making them not wanting to work for others to get the best fruits of their work. If MULEs don't work their hardest, they will not generate enough income. If there is no production, there is no wealth. If there is no wealth, there is poverty. Poverty shared equally is not efficient. The only exceptions for humans are the Amish communities, but they are quite oppossed to marxism. Well, more likely, it's marxism what is oppossed to them, right? Tongue

In my free time, I behold colonies of ants working hard just for loyalty to their community. Their productivity is high, they don't care about who gets the fruits of their work and 100% of the production goes for the whole colony to enjoy. And guess what? They serve a Queen! No republican ants. Grin The point is, it's not easy being a MULE, but it's not easy being a first founder either. Like producing crystite, you have to run a lot of risks. You must keep extra cash just in case pirates make a visit. And not to mention if they are not willing to help your community/nation/brotherhood, and they just care about the "I want it all, give me more, money-money-money". Humans hardly respect each other, how can they respect someone they don't care about at all? That's the reason you can't go happily sharing all your cash among your workers. If they don't work for you (and not for the wage), you can't work for them, because that would lead to bankrupt sooner or later.

Well, thanks for reading... Donate and don't be slaves of your money, the colonial ship might return soon.

Silly Goose, MULEs can't go to the Pub. As for tap dancing, that's just cultural expression. You're not opposed to that, are you?

Nope, I'm opposed to spoiling my labor force by allowing them to do whatever they want to do while they don't fulfil their duties or don't take them seriously. It's like educating a child/pet/tamagotchi, if they don't need any effort to get their reward, expect no work from them unless they have blind faith in you. You run the risk of them going wild and ceasing respecting you. You must treat them as they deserve, for the labourer is worthy of his hire. But you can't be too indulgent in all cases. Discipline is a must in those cases. So, you MULEs, get out of the bar and go back to work! Grin
