When I launch the game, I keep getting the popup that a new version is available.  After closing the app and relaunching, I get the upgrade notice again.

Once I start the game, I select play local (I've not registered an account), then training.  The game screen is all black and unresponsive.  If I try to close the game, I get the 'are you sure' prompt, I select 'yet', and the prompt goes away but the game does not close.  I am forced to End Task MULE to get it to close.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tyvin

Platform:
Windows XP
Dual GeForce8800, with new nvidia drivers (195.x, I saw the FAQ about the black screen, no luck)

I suggest you install Java 6 (you still have Java 5, and an outdated version of that) and try again.

From your updater log it doesn't seem like you should get a notice about an old version. What does the dialog say?

Your version is missing some files (the bundled JRE) which unfortunately wasn't added to 1.2.0 until one day after the release. I would suggest that you download the whole game and try again. Only users who downloaded the whole game either the 8th or 9th of January are affected by this, not users updating an older version.
