Important note here, that the theme song is copyrighted and we, Dan's kids', ask that you ask for permission before using it anywhere...including youtube.   melaniebuntenstark@yahoo.com

Hello Melanie,

Your message is addressed to?  Is that the reason why nobody from the team posted a download link for all the fans who wanted to listen to it anytime in a loop without starting the game?

Does my NTSC version is fine with you?  Should I remove the download link?

Are you in a PAL or NTSC region btw?

Regards,
Rhi

Saying that, and since you asked I don't see a problem with your link...my attorney may advise me differently, but for now it's fine.

In fact it's the original but 60Hz instead of 50Hz...  I still don't know if the original M.U.L.E. was programmed on a PAL or NTSC computer.  I would say PAL because the remake here is the slower version and that you must have approved it like it is.  I guess I could search a bit and find the country where you it started all...  or you could tell me.   Wink

Happy Holidays!

Melanie,

Thanks to you and the rest of your family for making this happen. I spent countless hours with your father's games as a kid. You probably already knew that his work meant a lot to many people, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to reiterate the point Smiley

Definately NTSC

Hello Melanie!

From the Wikipedia article : M.U.L.E. was developped for the Atari 400/800 first.

Can you tell me if the original theme song was playing at that speed : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z48FWWCG4dU or at that speed : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWvQQuLPmzg

It has to be noted that the original song was playing faster on a NTSC (60Hz) C-64 computer than on a PAL (50Hz) C-64 computer.  I'm still trying to figure out what was the speed of the original...   Grin

The song remake for Planet M.U.L.E. is playing like if those who made it heard it from a PAL computer (or they listened it from a YouTube clip that was playing the slow version.  I don't know if that speed was intentional or not.

Whatever the speed of the original was, I'm used to listen to it on a NTSC computer and that's why I made the speedier version available.  I hope you better understand why I started that thread.

Cheers!

It is closer to the 2nd link, but still sounds about a beat to slow.

I really like the way the theme song was re-done.  It's updated and modern, but doesn't lose the feel of the original.
At the same time, I'd love to see an option to hear the original C64 version.  8-bit nostalgia!

Good idea but the game was released on different platform and sounded a bit different on each...  glad it's pretty easy to find the original SID when I want to listen to it, thanks to the HVSC.

And you, used to listen to the PAL or NTSC version?  Maybe I should start a poll, I'm just curious.
