First let me say how happy I was to find this project. I have warm memories of playing M.U.L.E. on my dad's Atari 800 home computer as a child.

Downloaded it both on Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10. First few Training games on Windows worked great, but now having some difficulties.

If these details help, those games were well-balanced as far as resource-production. Then, still on Windows, one AI cornered the market on food production. As the other AIs and I ran out of time to act the game started slowing before the start of the land grants, eventually stopping completely around Week 7.

I've just tried playing for the first time on my Ubuntu machine, and I cornered the market on food production with the same result. Going into land grants of Week 5 the game just stops.

[EDIT: Turns out if you wait long enough, around 5 minutes, the game recovers for another round then repeats the long delay.]

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I've been having the same type of problem, it seems that it keeps sticking up on the land grants.

I'll play the first game after start up fine but on multiple games it starts sticking at the begining of the land grants.

The problem rely on the bad ping time of one or two players. If ping time (shown below on screen if you run in window mode) is 220/230 or higher, the land grant (sell/buy in auction too) is terrible slow. And make the game stuck, even if the player with bad ping gets lower ping back then. He can still chat, but his bad connection brings the game to an early end Sad.

It can't be due to bad ping because I still get the problem when I play without logging in. I watch my ping and it never goes above 16ms

Hi,
I just played my first online game.
It was a tournament game.
this one:
http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-game/game?game_id=8642
The game just stopped at the land grant after round 9.
We played 2 humans and 2 bots.
After the game halted, the other player (gunnar) left the game,
and than the computer took over his character and the game went on with the next round.
Any fixes for this?  Huh
It is a bit frustating to play for an hour and than beeing stopped this way.

We had this as well.  4 players, good ping.  We go to turn 4 and the landgrab just froze.

Does this only happen on training?
