Your ping is zero because you are the host, no problem there.  You are pinging yourself.

Where you do have an issue is apparently you made an error in your port forwarding because it is unable to connect the newly open game to the chat server to open a public game.

Are you sure you forward both TCP and UDP protocols, and are you sure you redirected them to the IP address of your computer.  (Check your connection status in your local machine to find out it's actual IP address, it's probably something like 192.168.1.#)  The # is unknown to me, but you should be able to figure it out.  That is the IP address you need to forward the port to.

Once you've done that, you should be able to host.

As for keyboard control.  When you are not in chat mode, you have to press "J" to join the game as a player.  If you want to do a training first (highly recommended to learn game mechanics)  you can press "A" to add A.I. players.  Once you have 4 players you can press spacebar to start the game.  As long as you are not in chat mode your arrow keys and spacebar should handle the rest of the game.

If you don't care about hosting, you don't need to worry about portforwarding, it only matters if you want to host.  It does not need to be done to join other open games.

Thanks Chuckie Chuck

I under stand that the hosting issue is probably port forwarding issue. But when I log into my account and then click on new game and either on from there , but lets just say a training game. As soon as the screen come up, I try to press the j key to enter and it will not work. the only active key is the enter key.  I'm beginning to wonder if this is my keyboards fault the Logitech G510. Going to try a normal keyboard and see what happens.

I tried a normal USB keyboard and I still have no keyboard control. I also updated my G510 drivers to the latest and still no keyboard. My friend has Windows 7 Ultimate and it plays just fine.

Hmm, that is different.  The only thing I can think of is if you have custom keyboard software installed beyond what windows installs automatically (say if they keyboard came with a disk.)  That software could confuse things no matter what you plug in if it has custom mapping features I suppose.  You might just try uninstalling the software.  It tends to bog down the system UN-neccesarily and most if not all the keyboards features still work without it in most cases.

I have a microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse and logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo, and they both work fine.  I've never bothered installing the included software that came with them.  Windows automatically installs some keyboard specific drivers for both of them, but it's microsoft certified, and comes from microsofts own update site and chances of a glitch are minimal.  Custom drivers for input devices often have negative effects through out the entire system.  That however is where letting microsoft choose the drivers stops for me.  Video Cards, Audio Controllers, Hard Drives, ETC - I always use the disk, or even better, get online to the manufactures website and download their very newest, which it sounds like you've done.  Just not for the keyboard and mouse.

I personally can't think of anything else to try, except maybe installing the latest Java.  I didn't think to look at what version of Java you're running, and it's probably not the problem, but I'll take a second look at the log.

No, java looks fine.  Can't help noticing the log reports running Windows XP x86, and wondering if you have compatibility mode turned on in your software settings so mule sees a different version than you're really running.  Probably doesn't have anything to do with it not working, but I've never seen mule detect the wrong O.S. before.  I'm not sure what the effect would be.

Thanks I'll give that a try. I probably left it in compatibility  mode trying different things. Will try your idea on the keyboard.

Removing the Logitech software has no effect. I'm now noticing that on another Windows Vista computer it works and when I go into a training game there is a ping at the bottom of the game of about 15 or 16 ms. When I open the game up on my Windows 7 Ultimate computer the one I'm having issues with, The ping in a training game is 0 ms. I'm beginning to think it might be my Killer NIC card , even though I have updated the drivers and firmware. And because I purchased a program to set it up on port 6260 with tcip and udp. going to try using my onboard NIC card and see what happens.

Wacky.  I don't get a ping when I'm my own host.  Shocking that you get a 15ms ping running your own game, that's odd.

It's really crazy that your game won't work on the Win7 machine.  I've never seen a keyboard problem like this in a windows PC.  Maybe you should try reassigning keys in the M.U.L.E. setup menu and see if manual picking your own keys makes a difference. Smiley
