updating video card driver???HELP

I can't figure out how to download and play this fucking game! my mom has played for ages and ages and we got a new computer and tried to download but it says that it "failed to initialize LWJGL display & please update video card driver....
I have spent hours trying to download Java, and going to the links under FAQ and trying all 3 links to update video card driver. when I do the intel it says that everything is already up to date and running properly.
the computer is an HP Compaq Elite or something like that. idk what the specs are...
under display it says Intel(R) Q45/43 Express chipset 60 Hz & 8bit
i hope that info is enough
we just can't for the life of us figure out what the problem is !!!!!!!!!!!

When buy or get a brand new computer, it does not mean it's for gaming purpose. Maybe you got a computer to do office work than run any game you like.

Try to run a Nintendo DS emulator with a game (a commercial one because they need lot of resources to run) and if it's run smoothly. Then you can blame java, the files onto download page, any configuration files or to this poster.
