I'm still getting the message that my display drivers aren't up to date though they are.

I'm playing on an older laptop with Mobile Intel 945 chipset series.

If you got the driver from your manufactures website, that would explain it...

I have a Sony VAIO with that chipset.  I had to go direct to intel to get drivers that work.  Sony's latest update was very outdated.

Installing the drivers direct from intel is a bit tricky.  The installer checks the currently installed driver for an OEM signature, and if it sees one, it won't install.  It is possible to get around it, one of two ways.

#1, completely uninstall the OEM driver.  Then the installer will pass the checkpoint.

or

#2, download the zip version of the driver from install and install it manually with the driver update wizard in device manager instead of running the executable installer (This is the method I used.)  This also fixes issues with a lot of other modern software titles that used features the OEM driver doesn't fully support, but that the hardware is capable of.
