Since we update the client almost daily, we built it as an autoupdating applet inside the browser.
You simply access it by loading the URL:

http://www.planetmule.com/test-mule2

Please make sure you have the latest java installed:
http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

LOGIN/PASSWORD are the same as with PM client.

Please also login to Mibbit chat by using your username (no password required).

When the client does crash before loading, please increase your java memory to -Xmx700M (case sensitive).
For windows this can be done as in the Java settings here:

----------------------------------------------

Quick Manual (NEW gameplay mechanics):

Species Abilities:

Packer: Walk to another players FOOD plot and press button.
Result: Gives you more time and DECREASES that players production output for this round.

Mechtron: Manipulates the computer.
Result: You cannot receive personal bad events. NEXT round, you chose HIRING first, regardless of ranking! A *Star next to your number on the left indicates you have chosen Mechtron until you pick next species.

Humanoid: Social Ability allows to collude in auctions.
Result: In 1 of the 4 auctions, you may choose to switch lanes by moving left or right just before the auction starts during the countdown 3,2,1. You and the player you stand in the same lane can only sell and buy from each other or the store.

Bonzoid: Produces +1 of any good in mountain plots.

Spheroid: Produces +1 of any crystite plot.

Flapper: Pub money x 2. If the Flapper is not hired during a round, it will use its sparetime to gamble and adds +$50 immediate bonus to the player taking him next round.

Legitte: Runs faster than any creature in any auction, on map or colony.

Gollumer: Always gets land in land grant. Gollumer also enters any land auction from above, meaning it can walk down and buy for the exact last bid or store price, if it has enough money to pay the price.

There's no AI yet. We're working out how we want the gameplay before writing an AI.

Have played a few rounds now (game does not stop afer round 1) and I like it.
The Land Grant is very fast and will take quick reflexes to get the plot u want - although with the increased playing field, I wonder if players will not "stake out" an area and try to keep their plots together.....

I also think that the hiring stage and special abilities will change player thinking as no one strategy will work - you will have to adjust your play depending upon your opponents moves each month, - adds an enjoyable new dynamic to the game - if your plots are far away - use a leggit - Very Fast - food - use a packer....Need Cash - go with a parrot (UGH) etc.... (You get the idea)

Like the bright colors to show what type of MULE you are producing

It seems that crossing the river/mountains is much slower, but that may just be my perception.

The one thing I would "fine tune" is the "city" - need more definition as to where one pod starts and the other one begins.

As to the suggestions....

Like the idea of simultaneous development and 10 rounds of 5 (or maybe 6) players also excellent idea.
Land Rush - I vote yes.
Removing HUD so you do not see other players info - I vote yes.

Keep up the excellent work and look forward to next opportunity for test game - WEEKENDS ARE GOOD Grin

the current pm2 requires 5 players for full game... mule store, etc. all has been upped in numbers to make it balanced with 5 players...  the goal is to have tournament games that require 3 human players and 2 A.I. to always have a 5 player game.
