This is a put your money where your mouth is poll. People are making assertions about which is better: the Atari/C64 version of M.U.L.E. or the Planet MULE version. But, how many people have actually played a 4-human-player original game within the last year? This poll is for Everyone -- players, developers, random people on the street... Everyone is encouraged to vote.

(I'll be the first to admit not since the 80's (maybe the early 90's).)

I would never admit to the level of nerdity that is required to have a LAN party for MULE at my age.   I might try to do it, but i would NEVER admit to it.  Smiley

0 games - however while I do appreciate and have MANY fond memories of the original C64 version, I am very happy with the community that has developed around the updated MULE.

I am not the same person that I was when I was a teenager back in the eighties, my tastes have changed, my ideas and views have changed - I am glad one of my favorite games has changed.

Please understand, I would LOVE to have an "original version (C64) avaiable to play over the net, and I wouldl truely enjoy playing it - from time to time.

I think that the pool for players of the "original" would be smaller and we need MORE players. Peeps who love the original are not all that common.

The updates and changes will hopefully, attract more players to MULE, players who may not be old enough to appreciate the original - may even see the original as a "dinosaur" if they were born after '80.

I have recently spoken with some of those players from my teenage years and while they all have C64 emulators, they have not utilzed them in quite a while - they were all very excited about Planet MULE and they have created profiles and are now playing (Won't tell each other who we are).
I asked them their feelings and they feel similar to myself, LOVE original and LOVE the changes.

I do believe that we will soon have both - Original MULE - as close as possible to original and MULE2 - bring on the FLAME THROWERS.... Grin

Wow, when did everyone become so shy?

No tricks here. I'm just trying to collect some data about what we know as M.U.L.E. players. I hope to use the results of this poll to make posts using more solid foundations.

I voted 10+ and then actually read the rest of the sentence. I have not played 4 player actual since the 80s.  Shocked

I played last time in 2006, then I moved away from Finland to Brazil, where I haven't had a chance to look for old-school people near where I live.

In the 2000s (up to 2006 that is) we had a yearly championship and played 10-20 times per year, and usually more than 1 game per session. I think some years we even had 7 players, so it was a bit easier to arrange a session and we had to have even some rotation in some sessions (1-2 last players had to rest the following game).

I have never played a 4player mule game ever, planet mule was my first ever. Back in the eighties i played on my c64 with my brother, but could never find anyone to play with us and if we told them they had to use the keyboard they would have told us to forget it. After playing bots for 20yrs I have to say that playing 4 humans is alot different(better) as you cant plan ahead too much making the game alot more random.
