I do not use Norton fire wall, so I can't detect your problem as well as the getting the port 6260. I am well experienced with Avg since the last two years; it's the world leading anti virus as well as I know.

Throwin suggestions about MULE isn't so much at all. For this reason, you can't leave this here. Be cool man, it's the system of behavior for new comer. May be hybrid is better then the classic one as you said. So, take it as usual not a seance of new.
