1  M.U.L.E. Community / General Discussion / Re: Atari or C64? on: November 07, 2010, 10:38
C64 is the best - only played Atari version once and it's just not as good - tiny details make the difference, the 3 of note for me are -
* on C64 you have to deploy the MULE precisely on the house - makes your turn that much more edgy!
* the AI on the Atrai version is too rigid (like sticking to $25 for Energy sale) on C64 it is more random and less easy to guess
*on C64 you have to remeber what energy food you've got/need - makes it much more of a challenge.

Any plans for a v2 C64 version - I would pay £30 for that!!!

Any way of getting into the game code to tweak the game (turn times, crystite prices)?

Happy gaming!

Thanks - played as the Flapper and development time just right - though now the AI has no chance against me, I always go for crystite and win - even with 2 visits from the pirates I'm always streets ahead , wish you could tweak the code so crystite price went down from $56-$144 to $12 to $122? Also perhaps 4 smithore per MULE?

Like the basic graphics on the C64 - think this is MULE at its best Smiley

Think the C64 version is better than the Atari - just wish there was a way to get into the code and tweak things like the crystite prices down from $56-$144 to say $12-$122, I always go into crystite and win - very rarely even put a Smithore plot on!

Other thing is I like to play the human to give the AI a chance but the time given at development is way too short (just 2 new MULE's) - wish you could change this time! If you play as the Flapper (beginner ) you get about the right amount of time for you to make the development intersting.

Like having to get the MULES precise on the houses - adds a bit of edge to the play that the Atari version doesn't have - also love the vageries of the AI , the Atari version is too precise!
4  M.U.L.E. Community / General Discussion / Best Emmulator for C64 version? on: November 05, 2010, 09:36
What's the best emmulator and M.U.L.E file combo for Win32 system - using CCS64 v3.6 and the game time in development is too short and land grant is a bit quick too!

Any advice much appreciated Smiley

Always been a problem this, particularly against 3 computers - wish you could channge the cristite price variable down to say $15 to £120 ?
6  M.U.L.E. Community / General Discussion / How many M.U.L.E. 's should you be able to deploy? on: November 05, 2010, 09:17
I know this is a bit of a general question as depends on how far away from the store the plots are and terrain but thought it would be interesting to compare 'best case' scenario.

I'm having problems with the C64 version and emmulator I am using as it is only allowing max. of 2 new MULES per turn - any suggestions as to best emmulator or speed tweaks for my currrent would be much appreciated Smiley

Using CCS64 v3.6
