1  Planet Mule 1 / Planet M.U.L.E. 1 Discussion / Re: stop running up land auction on: July 16, 2010, 13:24
Agree, it's a bit long and $5000 was a bit much I paid for the last lot.  Housing bubble burst remember?
2  Planet Mule 2 / Ideas / Re: What is the Future of M.U.L.E.? on: July 14, 2010, 23:50
Antique MULE is the future, until we all die off.  Then it will be forgotten forever.  If you really want to slam dunk this game, toss it up with the fancy graphics, original rules, and slap an IFrame with the game as an applet onto Facebook Apps, it's pretty easy to do.  Toss a little chat app under, and you are good to go.  Of course you need a dedicated game server, which you are working on..

Even if you can't do that, put leader board on facebook.com and JNLP the game from a link with auto login via FB (works smoother, not chat box overlay issues).  Very easy to do.  Then ask some folks with FB to join the app, post a couple spams on everyones wall, and spend the next 2 weeks leasing additional servers... Lol.

You should be broke in about 15 days doing that, but you'll have 100,000+ players in the process.

Watch, I'll spam you from FaceBook...

This is a cool site and a great game.

The owner just got a Google Pank Rank 2 (soon to be 3) Link back from my site.  Enjoy :-)

If you send me a 468x60 jpg/png, I'll put that up instead of the text I have up now:

Planet M.U.L.E - This is a classic mid 80's game on the Atari/C64. Nice remake!
4  Planet Mule 1 / Planet M.U.L.E. 1 Discussion / Monetization on: July 14, 2010, 22:35
How are you (the owner) monetizing this site?  You have the exact same number of users as I do on my multiplayer game, same number online everything, and I got about half the hosting bill in income from google ads, and I don't even see those!  Crazy.

I've always been a MULE Lover, and was gonna make the game sometime, but I got caught up in online pool games.  Never had time for MULE.  Played 1000's of games, and played your's today.  Was very good, except for the delays on everything, 2 secs, 4 secs, that could be keyb abortable maybe, speed things up.

Anyways, I been working with an incentive ad company, and we are doing a new deal with incentive ads for donations.  The plan is kinda complicated, but if you are interested, give me a buzz on my email.  You'd be suprised what would come from it, big time - I was lol.  Shocked.

The module hides well, no one sees if it they dont want to, just stuff it on a page somewhere down low.  I'm loving it.

5  M.U.L.E. Community / Player Introduction / Hello on: July 14, 2010, 15:12
I've played some of the previous M.U.L.E. clones before, and well..  I can't wait to try this out.  I've played since '84 on an Atari 400 - 800xl, and always loved M.U.L.E.

I'll be on around 5:00pm EDT on the 13th, July to see if there are any games going.  Can't wait to try it out.

By the way, I see a gameserver based model is under works, what is the platform for that?  I got some spare CPU time on my VPS.  Win Serv 2008, 2 gigs ram, 40 gig disk, 1 gB connection.  I can setup an FTP, then a remote web page where you can start/stop/restart application.

Would be "stop" upload "start", which is how I run my gameserver without messing with Remoted Desktop.

You'd just have to be real careful with bad server code using 100% cpu cycles.
