There are a few hard core players that would love the opportunity to sound off at a moments notice, please keep that in mind before you delete legit threads here, if you don't mind!
Yes I agree that random events can happen. But there's certainly a case to be made with regards to hovering towards the bottom of the pack for the first few rounds.
I'm not sure I entirely agree with this motor. Burning 5 to get under the auction winner is foolish, but there are certainly plausible scenarios when a round 1 mule burn can pay off. For example, the player who starts in 4th without a round 1 auction can recover from burning 1 to ensure the high.
There are enough "bad player event" scenarios where first and/or second place have a bad event in round 2 that is more damaging than a $125 mule burn in round 1, no?
Were you in last place? A tie in the land auction goes to the player with the lower overall score.
There are exceptions to this rule, namely getting victimized by a latency issue. Sometimes a player with bad lag can win an auction. Unfortunately I don't think there's anything anyone can do about that case.
A very glaring issue in round 1 is how much the game favors the player who was randomly awarded last place. Not only do they get dibs on the plot of their choice, but in the games where there's a round 1 land auction they will automatically win it at $972 unless someone intentionally overpays. That's a HUGE advantage since they will most likely begin round 2 in last as well.
Nothing more disheartening to see 10 heads in the lounge, starting a game, and nobody joining since apparently not logging out after your mule session is the cool thing to do?
Any way we can time out these lazy lounge lizards after a certain amount of idle time in lounge?
