Title: Pure AI game (4 AI's)
Post by: Keybounce on February 18, 2010, 16:30
So last night I ran a 4 AI game, and just watched.

They drove the price of smithore up. They caused a shortage and spike.

Not very well. They never bought the smithore out, just the first bot to go into smithore didn't sell.

Mules and smithore were normal all the way down to 4 and 0. The next turn they went up a lot, and everyone cashed in.

No chrysite production at all. Even after that peak. Maybe they expected the peak to continue. The one bot that was into smithore at the beginning took a big lead over everyone else, and kept it -- the bots don't know how to get money from food and energy, and will overproduce.

Now, the "highlights":
1. Two bots went into food. One took the plot north of the store, the other south of the store. (round 1). On round 2, the one that was S of the store took the far N; the one that was N of the store took far S.

2. The bot that went into smithore stayed in smithore. He wanted to sell for more than the store after the price came back down, and refused to sell -- letting his 50+ pile spoil.

3. I put my computer to sleep in the middle last night, and came back this morning. High speed! Mule doesn't have any sort of "Timing reset" -- so it thought it was way behind time, and ran at high speed. The sound did not -- the AI's finished their turn while the mule outfitting noise was still playing.

4. They still made 85K+ -- if the one bot hadn't let so much spoil, they would have gotten 90K. Oh yea -- he was first founder, and no one else was close. So much surplus food and energy.

Ha! Awesome,  this never occurred to me - didn't know it was possible.   I'm going to have to run one myself now.  I wonder how much deviation from your game I could expect.

I've done a few of those just for kicks, and occured to me it could be a great trainer for newbies to make a high speed video, maybe 30% accelleration, and making it a 6 round demo trainer.
