Title: A.I never going into crystite? Post by: poobslag on January 11, 2010, 03:53 Admittedly I've only played two games, but the A.I stayed out of Crystite both games. Smithore prices spiked in both games around turns 3/4, and then returned to normal - so there was no reason for them to stay in Smithore.
Both games had one A.I replacement player; a player dropped around turn 3 in one game, and a player dropped around turn 8 in the other game. It's possible that the replacement A.I players decided to stick with the strategies the original players had chosen - although this doesn't explain the behavior of the other two A.I players Combined with the glitch where they don't sell off surplus smithore, this gave them very bad scores. Title: Re: A.I never going into crystite? Post by: data2008 on January 11, 2010, 10:31 the computer players in the original were better, but then we changed back some of the rules, so we have to update the AI accordingly next.
Title: Re: A.I never going into crystite? Post by: MrBrown on January 11, 2010, 11:56 Yesterday an A.I. solar field was destroyed by a meteor. The other 3 players including me were all human. Now the A.I. player first bought a mule as everyone expected. But then he equipped it with farming and installed a farm on the crashed meteorite ;D
(and no - there was no food shortage he could take advantage of. and he had another farm in the river already) Title: Re: A.I never going into crystite? Post by: Xpovos on January 11, 2010, 15:01 While that, and the Crystite (which I don't think the AI ever went into in the original either) are great examples of AI stupidity, I'm fairly impressed by what appears to be AI improvements in the auctions. In particular the land auctions, but other resources as well. Before I could utterly destroy the AI with very simple techniques. They're still no match because of other inherent stupidities, but they're better.

Title: Re: A.I never going into crystite? Post by: MrBrown on January 11, 2010, 18:43 The funny part is, I really got 300$ for my investing in artificial dumbness in the same round as the A.I. built a farm on top of the crashed meteor :)

Usually they do it when the AI has lots of crystite deposits and few mountains. Title: Re: A.I never going into crystite? Post by: owenblade on November 05, 2010, 09:31 Always been a problem this, particularly against 3 computers - wish you could channge the cristite price variable down to say $15 to £120 ?
