Title: mac

Can you play this on mac yet? It was working, then it wasn't? I don't want to mess with java if it might make regular MULE not work.

I think you have to use the WebStart version on Mac, you can't play it in the browser. It was working last time I heard anything, there is a bug where you have to re-size the window at the start to make it start drawing stuff.

If you're able to test and report back it would be appreciated - as I say I thought Mac version was working.

I use it on mac just fine.
When you launch it, you need to adjust the size of the window from the corner and then once you do that you can see everything...I know, weird.

No I used the web start function during beta launch, it was fine, but now I get a java error. There was a period of about 2 weeks where I couldn't play MULE (PM1) when java had been updated - I couldn't get it to work even with help so if PM1 works I don't want to change it.

I had heard that the mac version wasn't working - maybe that was refering to requiring the webstart to function... but I wish I could play the game now. I'm mainly interested in playing MULE 1, but when there are not enough players ready to go it would be nice to play around with MULE 2 against bots, because it's still very new to me, where playing a  game against 3 bots in PM1 would just be pointless for any experienced player.

Java on Mac is a bit of a tricky situation I believe.

Would you be able to report the error you get when you try to run M2 WebStart? If it's a popup you could get a screen-capture (http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-in-Mac-OS-X) and this forum allows you to upload it as an attachment.

If you're getting a log, you could upload or copy-paste it too - most likely it's a combination of your Mac OSX version and Java version which should be contained in the log.

It's just wants me to update java, but when I did that before, PM1 stopped working. Where would I find a log if there was one?

See this thread http://www.planetmule.com/forum/?topic=1974.0

I don't know if you'd get a log in this case, Java might be being blocked too early. I can't comment on PM1 but running an outdated version of java is quite dangerous and only a short term fix. You might be able to make your java less strict so it will work with pm2 but that is probably a bad thing to advise.

Sorry I can't offer more help, maybe other Mac users can?

Ok I updated java, but it says my security settings do not allow the program to run. I'm not sure what to change to make it work, or perhaps it is not safe?

Mac 10.7.5, i use Firefox.

Just change the security settings in JAVA to allow it, it works. You just have to adjust the screen size from the corner and it pops up...
