Title: Playing within a router that I can't change Post by: TurqMage on May 02, 2012, 21:31 So I am trying to play at lunch from my office. Unfortunately we all share the same IP and can't get port 6202 to forward. I think we would be all set if we could run the server within the network. I noticed when I open the app there is an IP address for the server. Is this something I can download somewhere?
Alternatively is there a way I can do this without an internal server? If you know your computers local IP address you can tell the other players at work to connect to it
Steps : Host computer starts a new game (lets assume the host is using 192.168.1.104 just for kicks.) The other players will select "Join Address" in the menu bar, and enter that IP address. Within a private network, as long as you all run in the same subnet off the same master router, this will work (remember to make sure you know what the host computers IP address actually is, that is the address the others will need to join.) |
