The game doesn't recognize your video card. Do you know what video card you have? You may have to download and install proprietary drivers from your video card vendor's website. Drivers which come in packages from your Linux distribution may not work with Planet Mule. Please respond and tell us if you could solve the problem and what you did to to that. I do have the proprietary drivers installed. It's an ATI radeon hd3400 series. I downloaded the newest drivers from the ATI website and installed them yesterday. Of course I could have botched that up. :) david Title: Re: Failed to initialize LWJGL Display. Post by: davey_lloyd on October 16, 2010, 19:32 OK I fixed it. I had re-installed the proprietary by hand. So I un-installed all the video drivers and then re-installed them using the System-Administration-Hardware Drivers menu. Worked like a charm.

So I un-installed all the video drivers and then re-installed them using the System-Administration-Hardware Drivers menu. Worked like a charm. I'm glad that it worked out. Fo future users who read this thread I suggest you try the same thing as davey_lloyd if you're running Linux. Manually (Re-) installing proprietary drivers usually solves display issues. Title: Re: Failed to initialize LWJGL Display. Post by: wolffish on January 08, 2011, 01:24 I have a Windows 7 64 bit machine running a Radeon X300 video card with driver version 8.56.1.15.
I get the “Failed to initialise LWJGL Display". I have downloaded the latest driver software and it stated that my system is up to date. I REALLY want to try to play this game but have failed to. Please HELP! Steve Title: Re: Failed to initialize LWJGL Display. Post by: Chuckie Chuck on January 08, 2011, 03:26 Apparently that video card has no official support under Windows7. The most recent catalyst package written with that card in mind was 9.3 for Vista. I would start with that package and see if that gets you anywhere, but doesn't sound good. This video config would probably work under Vista, but the issue may be OS compatibility related.

Sometimes Windows can cling to its own preinstalled drivers that doesn't work in games. Then it won't let you install the drivers you need, telling you that the ones you already have are newer. In that case you can try a program such as driver sweeper (http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/) to completely remove your current, faulty drivers. After running driver sweeper you can install the drivers downloaded from your vendor. Title: Re: Failed to initialize LWJGL Display. Post by: Ace_Savant on October 17, 2012, 20:59 I'm having this same issue. I have updated to the latest nVIDIA drivers and still no dice. Computer specs below.
