Title: Land auction timer in 1.3.2b Post by: Nannerpus on September 29, 2010, 16:05 First, the 1.3.2b version appears to be working nicely, thankyou to all the developers for getting it done so quickly.
I don't have hard data to support this assertion, other than a single game log http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-game/game?game_id=31444 (http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-game/game?game_id=31444) ...but it seems like the timer for Land Auctions now moves more slowly during later turns compared to early turns. That may just be my perception however, and I apologize if I am incorrect. What is fact is the timer does not tick in the usual manner of other auction timers as time expires. The other remedies to the Land Auctions are very useful and much appreciated. it seems like the timer for Land Auctions now moves more slowly during later turns compared to early turns. That may be your perception but we'll have a look at it to see if something is wrong. Weird...I am hosting...in lead entire auction run (flashing) and plot goes to other player??? Can you tell us some more about what happened? Did it happen in round 9? Did two players run upwards the entire duration of the auction? Were the players close to eachother during the auction (+/- $20)? Did you see yourself blinking to the very end of the auction, just before switching tot the map view, and then another player walked up right next to you and won the auction? From the log I see that in one auction you expected to win because you were the host. That is not the case even if all players are constantly running upwards for the whole auction. Edit: Version 1.3.2b would blink the player who got to the top spot first, and not the last ranked player, in case of a tie. This has been corrected for the next version. But please answer the questions above anyway. Title: Re: Land auction timer in 1.3.2b Post by: leahcim99 on September 30, 2010, 18:15 Yes I believe it was round 9, it appears that I was slightly ahead on my screen - I was flashing the entire time of the run however, right at the end - I appeared to stop and he ran up and was awarded plot.
I was the host and we had had no issues with delays or lag at any other time in the game. There may be an issue with how I have configured my router and ports - I have a slight delay from my port and Qos configuration that gives me (the Host) a PING of 2-8 during games and I have found that I have no host advantage (unless playing that sheep lover currently in #2 - jj rodz :D) and I am unable to steal a plot (and I will be honest and say that I have tried on a couple of occassions). I have only seen this happen once despite playing numerous game yesterday. Great Job on the quick fix 1.3.2 Thank You for minimizing my withdrawl... I was the host and we had had no issues with delays or lag at any other time in the game. That's normal. It takes a few parts of a second for the other player positions to arrive at your screen. This means that you don't see another players true position until the end of the auction unless they are standing still. The true position and what you see can differ a few bucks dependign on that player's latency. The game currently makes no attempt to guess a player's true position either. I am unable to steal a plot (and I will be honest and say that I have tried on a couple of occassions). I have only seen this happen once despite playing numerous game yesterday. I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean but in version 1.3.3 it shouldn't be possible for the host or any other player to steal a plot in the land grant before a player with less score. If all players hold their buttons pressed the plot will always go to the last player. |
