Hi, I am not sure where to put this issue: Lately, my IP provider has switched to IPv6-only connection. All IPv4 traffic is now realised through a DS-Lite-tunnel. For inbound IPv4-traffic, I am granted a scanty 20 ports that will be tunneled to my router (10988-11008). Planet MULE's port 6260 is not within that range, so I can no longer natively host a game.

Is there any way to have a Planet MULE client connect through another port (outbound)?

Once my router receives the connection request on any port it can map the traffic back to port 6260. So, I only need a client willing to connect to me (as the host) to use another port.

To Justin1984:
Apparently the forum server is so outdated that private messages can no longer be sent here.  Please advise.

Message to Rhodan...

Sorry, I haven't logged into the forum recently I guess.  Turn of User Account Control or at least turn it down to a level where you can allow manual registry modifications to take place.  It blocks bot registration.

I couldn't respond to your PM directly due to the above issue.

Every time I try and sign in, it says

"Error while contacting the Master Server.
Please try again later.

Unexpected end of file from server"

Is it because I have Windows 11 or is the server down?
The one I used was:

If I can get an answer soon that'd be great!

Although I can't speak much for the global domination games (mainly because I haven't really played them), Dani's work explored the duality in imperialism and capitalism. "Coexist" is probably the best way to summarize it. In Seven Cities of Gold, if one upsets the natives of a land you are "sharing", then one is less likely to succeed. In MULE, players who play just for their own score will never see the high scores of a truly optimized, specialized, and coordinating colony.

Dani Bunten was an entrepreneur. In this simulation we call life, we'll fall under the wheels if we try to directly oppose large problems; particularly the problems we cannot solve alone. Unfortunately, we must at least at times be part of the wheel.

I'm sure I don't speak alone, but MULE didn't just teach me economics, it taught me how to cooperate and play with others. Dani is on record as saying what happens outside the computer during a game (the meta game) is as important as what is happening in the game. When we're playing MULE, we're not conqueroring (albeit mostly empty) planets, we're playing with each other. And if we're introducing MULE to a younger generation, we're teaching them valuable life skills.

Hey everybody.

I created a survey asking various things related to MULE:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KDVQ85C

I call it the MULE Census 2024.

There's been good Planet MULE engagement but I figured I'd share the link here too in case anyone has missed it. I'll keep it up for a little bit longer--I'll use the making popcorn method. Apologies if it's down by the time you see this post.

I plan on sharing the results.

Hi everyone. I manage the server for Planet MULE and we've recently moved hosts and we had a bit of turbulence, apologies for that. But everything now seems to be squared away and working correctly according to the few players I've talked with in the lobby.

I'm not a player of the game but I probably should give it a go one day! I'm not contactable through the lobby generally but I am happy for players to contact me.

I am not likely to come to the forums too often so I've setup a chat room where I'm always available on Matrix (https://matrix.org/). It's a free and open-source chat service. The chat room is #planet-mule:chat.opendesktop.org.

I'm also available on Telegram (https://telegram.org/) via https://t.me/Justinzobel.

Happy M.U.L.E.ing!

I don't even know how to get into the right mood to trash you, and you know who you are.

I will host my own multiplayer games from now on, only to stop you weak sauce players from ganging up and quitting by twos when you are losing.

Incredibly poor sportsmanship and weak saucery!  You know who you are, Rhodan and Kirkus.  So weak, so weak.

On the other hand, if you choose your creature for ever, you would have the same advantages in each match. This advantage could even not match your style at all.

I prefer lack of additional advantages. And, if there were additional advantages, I would like them to be chosen specifially for the match, not during account creation.

Not that my opinion matters much, I don't have time for playing. Maybe I'll have some time next month.
