If only there was a way to give recognition to honest hosts. Most of the hosts would get a thumb up from me. Suspicious hosts could be identified just by checking their "thumbs up" -statistics (thumbs up vs. games hosted).

I think choosing a poor strategy deliberately is bad sportsmanship.

I know high food and energy prices usually hurt the colony scorewise and some players may think everyone should aim for a high colony score. Unfortunately the colony scoring is kind of broken (and that's the only significant design flaw in M.U.L.E. I think). Selling to the store always rises the colony score though the only commodity that flows out of the system and should bring money in is crystite.

I've been accused by 2 opponents (in same game) of being a poor sport.  It was because i starved them out since they hogged up all the good ore plots.
...
My question is:  Do you consider that bad sportsmanship or a plan to win?  Denying people food and or energy when u have it (BTW after turn 2 of them all building ore they had no food or energy for next 6 turns).
No, I don't. I think it's bad sportsmanship to sell food for $100 or less when it's really worth $500 or more, unless you're selling to a player who has already lost the game. Players who expect food and energy will always be cheap just don't understand the game at all. They need to be taught a lesson. Cool

Here's another game that was strange:
http://www.planetmule.com/hi-score-game/game?game_id=17624

I don't know if there was any cheating involved. We decided to end the game after noticing things were not ok. According to the game stats, all players started with $500000. During the game it looked like only the host had that much. The store seemed to have 800 units of some resources.

People who like M.U.L.E. should definitely look for economic and/or auction-based board games. Here are just some suggestions:

Power Grid (a great game, quite demanding)
Goa (trading and auctions)
Santiago (auctions and farming, simple rules)
Modern Art (an elegant little game, the ultimate auction game really)

All these games require a little bit of thought, so they may not be suitable for introduction to board games. M.U.L.E. players should have no problems though.

If I had to choose between Race for the Galaxy and Puerto Rico, I would absolutely pick PR. Though both RftG and San Juan use some mechanics of PR, they are card games and quite luck-driven. In PR there's not much luck involved. RftG has about as complex rules as PR. San Juan is somewhat easier.

Thanks for a great game! This game would probably be #1 M.U.L.E. remake even without the online option. Very nice work altogether.
