Title: Wrong public IP / Allowing one to specify a public IP Post by: statix on January 19, 2010, 13:24 I've managed to done a test on the server: though I've correctly configured my port forwarding in NAT router, I still cannot create game due to client reporting wrong public IP to game server.
Asking a few players to try joining my game via my public IP works. As such, can I suggest a feature to allow specification of own public IP and perhaps even port. I believe my ISP does some stupid proxy which causes PlanetMule's server to get the wrong IP. Title: Re: Wrong public IP / Allowing one to specify a public IP Post by: Peter on January 27, 2010, 13:59 We've noted this to be fixed in future versions. Is the IP address reported by e.g. http://www.whatismyip.com/ different from the IP address which players can use to join your game?
Title: Re: Wrong public IP / Allowing one to specify a public IP Post by: statix on January 27, 2010, 14:09 Yup, whatismyip.com is reporting my correct IP.
My ISP is kind of weird in away that web traffic goes through an invisible proxy, which we can't even disable. However, the actual IP is still given in X-Forwarded-For header. |
