Hello all. I've just started work as a new software developer on the MULE2 project.

I'm a newbie to MULE so will be making an effort to play online a fair amount both to understand the nuances of the game better, and get to know the community a bit... I do like the game you'll be glad to hear!

So if you see me on the server, say hello and be kind!

Welcome John, you should get your hands on the Atari and Commodore 64 versions (emulators and images available all over the place on line)

My favorite emulators (Vice64 and CCS64)
Commodore Game Images at www.c64.com and www.gb64.com

It's good to familiarize yourself with the original so you can have a better understand what players want and expect out of both Planet M.U.L.E. and Mule2.

Just my thoughts. Smiley

Hey CC, thanks for that. I'm very new on the team so maybe you can confirm - PlanetMule was/is supposed to be a literal re-make of the original down to the last detail, whereas Mule2 is a "re-imagining" of the game's core concepts?

I'm only working on Mule2; are you one of the testers?

You got it right, but we still have complaints about Planet M.U.L.E. having significant differences from the original.

I am not an official tester, but I've played the beta a few times, and it's very promising.  My biggest complaint with Mule 2 has been bugs in the AI at species selection.  If you have more than one human player, any AIs that were added will hang the game because they refuse to pick remaining species that were not selected by human players.

My favorite solution is to allow all players to choose any species, regardless of what others have chosen.  I think it's silly that everyone has to choose a different species.  Takes away from the strategy in my opinion.
